Here's a couple with good conflict ideas to explore too...

-Chicago
The mafia
-Los Angelas
Cryps vs Bloods
maybe some allusion to Chinatown
-New York
The different burros
-New Orleans
um... floods
-Salt Lake City
Crazy mormons
the growing NCR

I just want the next one to feature the Commonwealth (mentioned in Fallout 3). They seem to be able to produce true androids, so it would be cool to see.

Detroit would be great or Austin. Ohio would be cool. I think Detroit looks really bad right now and we should blow it up and make it look like the present. We could make Detroit the automation and robotics capital in the Fallout Universe

Fallout has yet to do America. There's so much of America to cover! Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, Staten, and the northern wasteland. After so many games taking place in the Soviet Union we need a change of pace.
I'm pretty sure you just named 5 boroughs of New York and the Canadian/Alaskan tundra... you have a weird idea of America.
My view is completely grounded in reality.

Texas. The very thought of it makes me laugh.
I believe Fallout tactics went there.

Well, there's always New York. Maybe some subway trains still work, and there are some gangs around. You're probably going to be in one of those gangs, and someone is going to want all of the gangs to have a truce. Then all gangs meet up, and someone shoots the guy who wanted to call a truce. Your gang then gets blamed for it, and you are forced to run back home. The big problem though, will be the fact that your gang will have their hideout in Coney Island. That and the fact that the meeting was in the Bronx. Then, you and the other members of your gang will fight their way back to Coney, using the subway trains to get around. Then, when you get back to Coney, the guy who actually shot the truce caller shows himself.

If you guess what I'm referencing, you get a massive ass cookie.

theres no reason a fallout Australia couldnt work, I diagree that is HAS to be an american thing (Imagine replacing Vault boy with a cartoon kangaroo in a vault jumpsuit)

while our 50's culture was unique its still recognizable to Americans (Nuka-mite anyone?)

and we have the wild life to pull off some terryfying mutated creatures, Im not actually sure what Australias stance was in the fallout universe

only thing Is if they got a bunch of american actors to try and do australian accents..THAT would be painful

anyway that said theres still plenty of America to explore

I want Fallout Oxford or Cardiff
Only if Torchwood 3 is turned into a dungeon, or something.

OT: I'd love to see a Fallout game in Alaska, or Canada. Having a snowy setting would be pretty sweet.

The warriors. I took the liberty of getting myself the cookie. There will be a bill at the bakery.

what about the Asian countries like china, japan or Korea?
You know, I've been thinking about that Japan thing. The player would wake up from a cyrogenic sleep chamber in a secret room in Vault 66 only accessible to its current Overseer.
Because your character was only 12 years old when he/she got frozen, the normal residents of the Vault raise you, due to the Wayward Dreamer (that's you) being (in essence) an orphan.
7 years later, on the morning of the day after your 19th birthday, the Overseer has gone bonkers & unleashed the other human popsicles, and now wants you dead so he can escape through the Mt. Fuji Caverns into the wasteland beyond. Also, there's a village of junk built on a crater that was turned into a swamp by heavy rainfall in the middle of Tokyo. ^.^

Things Fallout 4 won't be:
-Set chronologically prior to an earlier game in the series. It's a precedent. Besides, prequels don't exactly jive with the whole post-apocalyptic wasteland set amidst the bones of the American dream.
-Set anywhere outside of the continental US or lower Canada. Again reference American dream, bones thereof. No Fallout Europe, no Fallout London, no Fallout Asia. There are some great post-apocalypse games that can take place in those locations. Russia in particular does these amazingly sell. But they just won't be Fallout without the americana.

So, that said. I could see a couple places that would be pretty cool for the next Fallout to take place -
*Great Lakes wastelands - Detroit/Chicago/Toronto. Old industry, an Enclave citadel, lake pirates, and Niagara Falls.
*Texas, Louisiana, etc. Deep south. Basically grow all the things that made Point Lookout good and expand on them. May be able to explore what happened with the Mexican border after the bombs fell.
*Florida, Georgia, etc. Atlanta, radioactive gators, more deep south, and the ruins of the space program. Has potential.

Fallout: Detriot...hmm, nothing changed!

Actually no, I go with Florida; because it's awesome. Nice and flat, the everglades, the indian reservations down south. Miami, Tampa...Disneyland. The Villages, could be full of old people like it is now.

Alligators, rivers, lakes, trees, and McDonalds.

Reading that first line while tipsy was slightly amusing as I didn't see the "thread" part, I was vaguely interested about how creating this thread got you laid.

Fallout needs to stick with America because that's where all the Vault Tec Vaults are, and a Fallout game without one would be... odd to say the least.

Which reminds me, I need to play New Vegas again as I never actually found out what was in Vault 19...

It also wouldn't have all the other things such as Super Mutants and whatnot if it was elsewhere.
Vault 19 wasn't incredibly interesting.
