Fallout 4? Should it be made?

Should a sequel/prequel to Fallout 3 be made? It is said that Bethesda are already working on Fallout 4 but personally i don't think they should. I can't see them improving on Fallout 3; such a masterful game filled to the meniscus with weapons characters and humorous dialogue, and I really don't want them to make a game that is going to let the series down.

Should it be made? Yes. I love playing Fallout 3 quite a lot. Will it be made? Probably not for a couple years at least, as I imagine we'll see a new Elder Scrolls game first.

And of course, we'll have people complaining about how it departed from the old style, but that's hardly a situation exclusive to the Fallout franchise. But at least there won't have been another game in development for people to compare it to, which may or may not help.

Yes. Though not New York. it's a nice city and all, but it gets way over used. Maybe Fallout: Hawaii. Something off the beaten path, as long as it was good quality.

And on oblivion 5, add some stuff from Fallout, some stuff from ES:4, both good games that could be used to make the Elder Scrolls 5 even better.

why not take it from the Chinese end, why should it always be the americans these games focus on

Not right now or even next year. I want Elder Scrolls V with a long story. If they do eventually make a Fallout 4, I wouldn't mind it being in Chicago. I haven't played Fallout 1 or 2, so I don't really mind if they already butchered the series.

IMO Fallout has shown us the way. What we need now is a game like fallout that grabs major issues by the short and curlies and gives them a solid tweaking.

Fallout 3 did it to some extent with drug usage, slavery, genocide (megaton anyone?), life discrimination (I mean against ghouls and such as opposed to racial discrimination) the list goes on.

There was a piece on there needing to be more torture in games when there was a WOW quest involving torture. I agree with this.

There need to be more of the bigger evils represented in games with major game consquences for making that decision.

i.e. never being able to shake the reputation as being someone who has used torture/rape/murder to get information. Being run out of towns, being unable to trade, ambushed by npcs and executed etc

This is my opinion. I expect to be flamed for it.

I like the way you think. That would be a great addition to the game.

I am hoping Fallout 4 to be made soon since I prefer it to Elder Scrolls. They should mix it up a bit and add more of their own fiction to the series, the world needs to at least get a little greener like a wasteland finding it's feet again.


Also if they are going to try and play the Nazi enemy card again (Soldiers marching to cleanse the Wasteland/City 17) at least make them seem as powerful as those lovely Combine. The Enclave felt like it was purposeless

um how would a sequal work?, with the turn out of the main characters fate (great spoiler avoiding huh)
and how would a Prequel work considering when your life before the game is stuck in a hole...

A: Americans like America
B: America is fun
C: Though you could have sub mission to visit japan and find a sword, 'cuz swords make games better.
D: Characters would look racist (same how White characters look strange in Asian games and vice versa)
E: Easier to get area design
F: Easier to work to familiar standards/building design.

It is just easier and safer to set the game in a more American type place. Also, this is set during really communistic/Patriotic times, so China probably wouldn't have the same fun parody of life at that time, and we wouldn't have someone like Three dog, though we still would have that government channel (forgot name)

I think it would have to be a sequel, as the Wasteland is returning back to green hills, anything before that and the radiation would be too great. I have nothing against the next installment of the Fallout series I just don't want them to ruin a successful series.

The Games ending is may turn out differently with Broken Steel. The Enclave could easily stop the fruitility of the Wasteland again.


I hope it's set in a new region of America though

I liked Fallout 3 and would very much like a Fallout 4 as well. I don't even mind if they make it a first-person real-time game with some RP elements just thrown in for good measure. However I would very much prefer someone other than Bethesda produce it and that it was called something other than Fallout 4, and that they make a pure MMO out of it while they're at it...

they could get a decent storywriter to write all the quests...
that was the only thing i felt lacked in fallout 3.
and make some of the evil characters less d1ckish. practically the only game i know to make evil characters unlikeable. (that you can choose to be evil in)
