Fallout 4 Will be Skipping Xbox 360 And PS3

Thank god; it felt like skyrim was seriously reduced in scope for the 360.

So glad this won't be getting held back by the older consoles. Also, I feel like most of the people complaining about the graphics have been playing too much skyrim with mods on: that game didn't look that great either.

Granted, after bioshock infinite I was kind of hoping for a boston with a similar aesthetic.

I don't see why you're that surprised, honestly. Even prolonged last-gen folks like myself know that tech follows a constant forwards motion. It only makes sense for my dusty consoles to be left behind eventually, while my PC's increasing irrelevance is at least something I'll be able to fix soon.

I know I could buy one of the current-gen consoles with what I've got, but honestly? Gamepads make my hands cramp up over time. I've owned all of the last-gen consoles and they all left me with aching wrists and exhausted fingers. Screw arguments for and against the superiority of a platform over another, I just don't have enough stamina to be much of a console gamer anymore. The keyboard-and-mouse combo at least feels like it won't murder my ability to write over time.

Either you're being facetious, or your low post count is indicative of how much you actually visit these forums.

(What I mean is that the community on this website has been heavily slanted toward PC since before I joined. So much so, in fact, that despite me primarily playing games on PC, it has given me a worse impression of "PC Gamers" overall.)

The Escapist community in general has gotten incredibly hostile and unfriendly to non-Pc gamers. It used to be, as you say, slanted towards PC, but over the past couple years it's become absolutely hideous the way some behave towards those who primarily play on consoles. I suppose part of the problem is that people like myself who mainly play on console just stops coming to the forums on a regular basis, leaving people to shout elitist remarks and attitudes into what's essentially an echo chamber. Reading this thread reminds me of exactly why i've mostly tapped out.

Well, great? Releasing on such ancient hardware would hamper the game severely. They'd have to make huge cuts to fit it all into such tiny RAM and vRAM, and it would absolutely negatively affect the end result for all platforms. I'd be far more surprised if they did release on the PS3/360.

Well, it's apparently skipping the Wii U as well, which is a shame. I really like the tablet controller and I was hopping for Bethesda to actually use it and make a good RPG with it. Inventory, map, stats and skill management seems to be perfect for the controller. And seeing how bad the trailer looked, I don't think the hardware would be much of a problem. The trailer seems like one of the early PS3 games.

I will always lament how ZombiU, a Wii U launch title, proved how well maps and inventory can work on the Wii U pad, only for both the game and its console to be thoroughly ignored by games which could have used the same system.

I couldn't agree more. As a long time lurker (read everyday, rarely post) I've seen this site unfortunately go downhill both in terms of content and the general friendliness of the readership. It used to be you could have a difference of opinion that would end amicably and politely mid thread with an 'Agree to disagree' type response, however over the years the number of outright hostile responses each thread seem to have has increased alarmingly, and PC 'enthusiasts' are amongst some of the worst :/

So when after even CDPR get falsly accused of "Graphical Downgade" one week before release after clearly showing in numerous formats, actual gameplay, on multiple platforms for a whole year prior to release. Yet it's suddenly compared to one 2 year old E3 "In Engine" trailer, with more in common with the "In Engine" cutscenes than gameplay, unlike Watchdogs that showed the supposed actual gameplay.
Then when Bethesda show their, for XB1 "In Engine" Trailer, they are slammed for poor graphics. Not complimented for their "Honesty"

Speak for yourself. There have been plenty of people complimenting them for having a trailer that (most likely) looks like the final product, myself included.
