I think we'd all like to see an animation to walk diagonally, please and thank you.
Actually, come to think of it, I'd prefer TES V.
Take all the dismembering goodness and put it in a setting where you can lop arms off and use magic that doesn't boil down to "fire bullet, electric bullet, ice bullet."
don't forget reddish blob bullet, well I'd be open for ether TES V or Fallout 4, but I do long to again be a giant green man with tusks without the pain of having 11 voice actors for a whole country

I've always wanted to go back and play the other FO games. Seeing as I've only played FO3 I can't really say I want anything changed or re-done.

I think tighter graphics and model designs, the ability to walk in a straight line in third person, though I don't know why the hell you'd want to be in third person in a essentially FPS type game, uhm some more outfit types, maybe some more hair and facial hair things, better character customization options would be just peachy, and maybe, just maybe, some better weapons.

That's really all you could ask for. Well all of that and a story that's doesn't end so quickly. Pull a page from TES, after you beat the game allow us to continue and go finish things we didn't get done. You insufferable morons.

No. Power. Armor.

Its alright if they add the BOS, but i feel that it ruins the idea of being a person who is trying to survive in the harsh wasteland, when you look like you forgot the way Halo 3 or Warhammer 40K.

More variety in the armor and some co-op would be nice(I think two player is the maximum number they should try to work with though).

As for vehicles: just no. Half of the fun of Fallout is adventuring on foot, knowing you don't have a quick getaway should something go awry. It makes it a little more exciting.

Put it back in the isometric(sp?) view, such as in the First 3 games. Also, bring back the trait system.
God no. The isometric view of Fallout 2 is complete garbage (for a modern game). I doubt a modern version of this would be much better. It's such a limiting viewpoint.

But then what would they put on the box? The box art allows shows some guy wearing power armor.

But seriously, as long as the BOS exists, there is going to be power armor. I doubt that they are going to be removed. Still, they could tone down the power of....power armor.

I think the idea of co-op might kill the VATS thing. I mean you stop the game and pick a target, would that really work for a Co-op thing? Ok, let me think about it for a second. Since it would more then likely be split screen, if they allow you to play Co-op offline because I don't play online Co-op unless I'm on WoW, go nerd power, so It doesn't really matter to me.

As for Power Armor..I agree 100%. It bloody well kills the whole feel of the survival aspect when you look like a big effing Knight in armor. I mean c'mon " Oh gee I hope this guy doesn't--wait I have Power Armor..I no cans die nao! " that just ruins the fun.

Isn't the next one in Las Vegas? That's what I want in the next Fallout. Getting the chance to put a bullet through the slot machine that just ripped me off, and have it land in the head of a Super Mutant would be pretty awesome...

Not to be mean or anything, but what does that have to do with any of this? This is about Fallout, granted they were made by the same people, but seriously. Add some context next time. Don't just type the name of a game you'd like.

One thing I'd like redone (and I believe Yahtzee mentioned this in Extra Punctuation), is the conversation threads. For me, it seems weird that Bethesda wants to take the idea of "face-to-face" conversation a bit too literally. Sometimes, I catch myself shrinking back when a conversation starts and the camera quick zooms to someone's ugly mug. I would prefer the style of KoTOR when the person was looking off-camera at the main character. Not only that, but then you got to see the main character answer back. With all the hard work I spent perfecting my char's face, it'd be nice to see it on-screen more often.

As for locations, I think the time is right to go international. Where have we been in the past few games? Southern California(F1); Reno, San Francisco, and Oregon(F2); Chicago and the surrounding areas (Tactics); DC and most of Maryland (F3); Pittsburgh (The Pitt); and Alaska(Operation Anchorage).

Other than Texas, New York and Vegas, there's really no other place I can think of in the U.S. to do a decent story in. My vote is China.

I knew there was something I forgot to add. Yeah, a better conversation piece would be better. That's one thing I didn't like about it. Too close in, ugly faces, same voice..man that got old quick, and some new options of how to reply to things would be nice. Like the ability to just throw the entire conversation out of the window. Example: " So how did you get the ---- " and you could go " Banana cream pie! " as maybe a joke or something and make the other character freak. Just something funny to liven things up or make you feel a bit better. I don't know, I have weird ideas.

i don't really need another fallout game i have fallout three
think about what fallout vegas will have,
the same broken buildings that you can't explore now with half broken lights attached
/\
don't get me wrong though fallout 3 is a fantastic game, in fact i played it some more today
but i do think an entirely new game is not necessary, I'm fine with just more expansion packs
maybe a big 20$ one for Vegas like they did with gta

**edit** not to mention there are other apocalypse games out there / coming out ,like Rage (which ID is now owned by Bethesda)

I'd like to see a bigger and more diverse wasteland (the DC ruins are pretty small compared to the first two games), larger towns (two hundred years and everyone is still living in shacks?), and a more robust and built-in party system with tactical options during combat. Basically make the game more like the first two while still retaining the first-person style Bethesda is good at.

Also, the game lacks information displays. There should be more detail and more options about everything. I want to know how much damage my gun does per shot and what it's range is (the game's DAM is actually a misleading display for DPS). Multiple damage types and corresponding armors, variable weapon ammo, weapon mods, etc. I'm not against simplification, I just think the information should be available to those who want it without hacking the system files.

choosing different background possibilities that determine more about the character you are: For instance, you could start as a vault dweller, a broken steel knight, an enclave soldier, a wastelander, or an asshole slaver / raider. They would have different sub-classes divided under each background possibility that would define the possible ways to play the game. I.E.: The Enclave or Broken Steel characters could be knights/tanks/marksman, etc. ; the raiders could be the thief/ranger, etc. ; the wastelander or vault dweller could have classes ranging in between with vault dwellers specializing in technology/computers/hacking, etc. while the wastelanders could specialize in human interaction/barter/extra rad resistance, etc. I dunno. Just broad strokes that I think could be a cool idea
