Well... not new york, (fallout london would be SAVAGE!)

I'm an original fan... but i like fallouts new controls MUCH better, so keep that in, but i would have 2 (3 at max) quick travel points, then call it; "cross land alternate teleport System" C.L.A.T.S. Have veichles, an old micro light? (mutant war tigers?) be able to hitch a ride on caravans, ect.

Fallout in San Fransisco. I especially want to see the Golden Gate Bridge in ruins, and I want to see what happened to China Town
San Fran! that would be cool, Golden gate could be a Raider stronghol, turrets on the supports, rope bridges on the wires, a great big war lord, And walls along the sides of the actual bridge made from trucks, cars and bikes. Bethesda should do something cool with such a grand land mark.

One thing i would really, really like to see is european tech, like SAS power armour (short range jet packs on the backs) German weaponary, French bio tech (perks). Rare because of the great big ocean between Europe and US, but much more powerful.

Fallout: London would be viable because there was a unique 50s/60s British cultural outlook they could play off of, the thematic equivalent of what 50s America is to the current batch of games. Just don't make it look like Hellgate London, please.

Alright a few ideas:
Locations:
-The commonwealth(mentioned multiple times in Fallout 3)
-Vegas
-Somewhere in Canada perhaps?
-London England
-Paris
-Detroit
-Mexico City
-Tokyo
-Beiging

Plot:
-Ability to fight for the Enclave. I found that u had to be in Fallout 3 BoS
-No FEV something new

Side Quests/locations:
-More Vaults, with more interesting back stories(Fallout 3 had some cool vaults dont get me wrong)
-Ability to start raider gangs
-(Needless to say) Cool duegons
-Less fast travel perhaps?

Weapons/Enemies:
-More variety would be cool, but dont over do it
-Buildable vehicles(like motorcylces)

DLC's:
-Africa? (It wouldn't have been nuked right?)
-Same for South America

Hmm this is all I can think of I will add more if anything coems to me.

Actually now that you mention it Fallout: London would be pretty cool, just image climbing over the rubble to gaze over the Thames at Big Ben's remains, just hearing the faint *bing bong* resonating from it due to creaking machinery. It would be awesome.

You should be able to join the Enclave in the next one.
This is about all I can think of. I think fallout 3 is near perfection.

It would be kool to join the Enclave, but it is not a necessary inclusion, IMO.

To be honest, if they just re-textured, re-voice acted, re-vamped the map with new locations, and added new side-quests and released this as Fallout 3.5 in about 3 years, after I have had my fill with Fallout 3, I would buy it.

Oh my god, and if they had the option to SKIP THE VAULT BIT.

IMO, it is one of the best bits of the game, but only once or twice can I play it through. Starting a new character should NOT be laborious. As much as I love Fallout 3, I do come to find that first bit annoying, however useful to the storyline it is.

Well, I think the next step for the Fallout franchise would probably be to allow you to create and control multiple characters at the same time. I've long thought that there was no real reason why you couldn't have the equivilent of say a Bioware RPG where you create three people in an active party yourself rather than being handed pre-made characters.

I also see the potential to deal with the complications of the hirelings/henchmen/whatever in Fallout which have always been a touchy subject. Especially if they look at how Bioware handled the AI (which was one of the better examples of having AI partners I can think of).

For locations, well, I thought Point Lookout was a nice change of pace from the desert, but having that much plantlife plays some havoc with the concept. Among other things I think back to like how Three Dogs gives his "have you ever seen a tree" speech, yet apparently now there are supposed to be boatmen travelling all around (it was implied Tobar wasn't totally unique in what he did).

Pretty much anywhere works, but in general they need to seriously increase the mature content by a factor of like millions to truely make it Fallout.

Generally speaking we should not have Aussies going "oh my, that animated drug use is a bit much". The very existance of a game like the one that would need to be produced should give their censors a stroke outright.

triple edit: and make a canada DLC for whatever it's set in
Was that bit with the cookie sarcasm?

Anyway, I'd go with the Canada DLC too.
It was a major part of the backstory, after all
I NEVER joke about cookies NEVER
and make the canadians all have unique cliche voices

Vehicles would destroy the fallout series. The point is to wander the wastelands in search of quests and loot and what have you, not zooming around in a rusty old dune buggie, easily escaping pretty much ALL mutant threats.
I'd like to see a lot more mutated creatures though. Some breed of bird would be great. Also, maybe more interactive brotherhood quests, maybe the option to pick and choose factions (Ie: Raiders, Slavers, Brotherhood, Enclave etc.)
And I can't stress the want for weapon upgrades. Building weapons was great, but I'd want the ability to get upgrades for weapons.
The ideas are endless, as for where, I don't think it matters.
The wasteland is the wasteland, no matter what part of America you pick to drop into.

well if there was a Fallout4 it should be a prelude to Fallout 3 because 200 years passed between Fallout2(drool)and Fallout3(drool gargle gargle)

The isometric view of Fallout 2 is complete garbage (for a modern game).
I very much disagree. And The Witcher and Dragon Age, clearly modern games, let you choose between third person and isometric. Why can't they do the same in Fallout 4?

well if there was a Fallout4 it should be a prelude to Fallout 3 because 200 years passed between Fallout2(drool)and Fallout3(drool gargle gargle)
No, it didn't. 36 years passed between Fallout 2 and 3.

Vehicles would destroy the fallout series.
The car didn't destroy Fallout 2.

Alright a few ideas:
Locations:
-The commonwealth(mentioned multiple times in Fallout 3)
-Vegas
Fallout: New Vegas is already in production.

That's what annoys me... there isn't an actual explanation. The best I can find is this:
The Enclave was not destined to die with the oil rig. Remaining West Coast Enclave forces, under the command of Colonel Augustus Autumn's father rallied to the command of a new, enigmatic President, John Henry Eden, and rallied to the facility of Raven Rock on the East Coast. Unbeknownst to anyone but Autumn's father and later Autumn himself, Eden was in fact a ZAX super-AI developed by the Enclave in the pre-War period to allow the government to be continued in the event of disaster, and had achieved self-awareness and direction. Previously employed as Presidential adviser and Raven Rock administrator, Eden took command of the East Coast Enclave forces. For a further thirty years, the Enclave stayed shut up in Raven Rock, only sending out Eyebots to scout the wastes and transmit Enclave Radio to the denizens.
One line that says they moved east; no description of their movements, why, the dangers they faced, nothing. I guess Bethesda just was lazy with the story.
Well, in FO2, they did have the vertibird outpost on the mainland and were capturing Vaults, so it's not much of a stretch to assume they would have been developing (or assuming control of) small outposts and bases everywhere.

But you're completely right. Considering the amount of pre-war computer logs that have no impact upon the game but to create atmosphere, you would have thought that there would have been some information in Raven Rock or at least some suppositions by the BOS at the Citadel.

choosing different background possibilities that determine more about the character you are: For instance, you could start as a vault dweller, a broken steel knight, an enclave soldier, a wastelander, or an asshole slaver / raider. They would have different sub-classes divided under each background possibility that would define the possible ways to play the game. I.E.: The Enclave or Broken Steel characters could be knights/tanks/marksman, etc. ; the raiders could be the thief/ranger, etc. ; the wastelander or vault dweller could have classes ranging in between with vault dwellers specializing in technology/computers/hacking, etc. while the wastelanders could specialize in human interaction/barter/extra rad resistance, etc. I dunno. Just broad strokes that I think could be a cool idea
They have a mod for that ! Its called alternate start :roleplayers
and I would like a system like that !
Shows what I know lol. Which Fallout has that mod? I dunno how good it is, but if it was made by Bethesda, it would be golden

i think vehicles would be cool in fallout but they would have to make the map massively bigger i know its big at the moment but having vehicles will make the distances between each location seem alot shorter and there for the map seeming alot more less epic. Also the having a car or some other kind of vehicle would be good for making your character carry more wieght like some kind of compartment where u can put ur stuff that u dont need on you all the time but might want later without going all the way back to ur house or where ever u left them.

co-op am not to sure about i know its always good fun to have a lol with your friends but i feel that the hole generally feel what i got off from fallout is that your alone in a bleek world and often finding ur self walking through miles of vast wasteland before meeting any kind of humanity well apart from the raiders who try and shoot u in the face 24-7. So i feel that my friends going wazz up!! on the mic might depleet that from me and then for the story to make scense u would have to have all left the fault at the same time and complete the game togehter plus when u talk to people who will get to pick what they say like good karma bad karma situation.

i think that the dialog will improve anyways because scines they made elder scrolls oblivion compared to fallout 3 the voice acting in fallout 3 has came along way so i think by time fallout 4 hits the shelfs they will really hit it on the nail.

also what i think would be cool being able to customize your weapons because i know that you can create weapons by gaining blue prints but i thought it would be cool if u could put a scope on your hunting rifle or on my laser rifle or anouther idea that i had is to put a reaver on to the end of a sawn of shot gun for a awsome close combat weapon
