Fallout Fans Petition Bethesda for Fallout 4 Information

You entitled little.... urh, why bother. as a fallout geek it hurts me to say this but, i really don't think we need more fallout. If you played new vegas to the fullest you get an ending that might just be the best way to end the series. A climax with high stakes and every one of your beloved factions going head to head in an epic battle. the enclave, the khans, the brotherhood, the ncr, the legion, the securitron army, the super mutants, the boomers, the raiders and everyone else you're able to get to come to the party at hoover dam. one explosive finale.

I'd say "and this is why we cant have nice things" but..that wouldnt really be fair, now would it? First of all, nobody is entitled to any information to Fallout 4, whether it is being made, when it is to be released, whats in it or where it is set, petition or not thats kinda a fact. The reasoning is really simple, if it is being made, its not going to come anytime soon anyway, neither will they drum up hype about its existence because they are not going to compete against themselves. TESO is what, roughly 4 months away? Do you seriously believe that Bethesda or Zenimax for that matter would release a game for one of their essentially flagship series at the same time? Thats like expecting TESO to launch alongside Elder Scrolls 6, its not going to happen.

If anything happens regarding Fallout 4, or Elder Scrolls 6 for that matter, it will be about 6 months after TESO launched because otherwise they are competing against their own product while it is still in its most profitable stages (first buys, first month, first quarter). Plus, how long was it from Fallout 3 to New Vegas (the latter not being made directly by Bethesda)? Or better yet, how long was it from Oblivion to Skyrim? Bethesda isnt Activision, or EA for that matter, they dont really do annual sequels, or anything close to annual.

I've found joking in this manner to often be in poor taste and judgement. There isn't a single instance even remotely acceptable where something having to do with videogames should make it seem okay to hope somebody is lynched or assaulted/beaten.

You kidding me, I'm a Megaman Legends fan and have been waiting for a sequel to the second game since 2000. I can call everyone light weights now that Duke Nukem Forever ended up getting released.

OT: While I can see how people want more Fallout games, I'm content with New Vegas as of now because it's got an excellent modding community that's keeping me busy.

OT: They could just replay Fallout 3 of NV, honestly, just about anything would be more productive than this petition.

To you and all those saying the same thing might I remind you all of Valve and HL3? People said the same thing back then and look how that has turned out. Just because a series is popular doesn't mean it will be worked on.

OT- While we don't NEED information on Fallout 4 it would be nice. I have a bigger problem with Bethesda not saying anything about the hoax until it was well and truly at the end. They became accomplices my inaction. I might even go so far as requiring companies to list the games currently being worked on as public information for investors. Then everyone can see everything going on, but they don't HAVE to tell us anything about the games. I do hate game companies that try to seem all cloak and dagger... *cough* Valve, Bethesda *cough*

It's not like Bethesda isn't working on anything. The way I see it, they probably won't release information about it until TES Online is up and running. I do agree with you on the hoax matter, a simple "that's not us" would have helped.

Also, would people be complaining as much if the hoax hadn't happened? This seems like a pretty normal production period for a Bethesda game. Besides, if there's a company you don't want to rush, it's Bethesda.

I mean really, I should have my post have a trigger warning. It was extremely offensive towards people and the fact that I assumed people would get my sarcasm was extremely arrogant and elitist of me. It's completely out of line to make a joke about someone who made a hoax who's entire goal was to piss people off and attempt to force a company's hand at revealing information they had no obligation to reveal.

Good god... I mean I have had relatives commit suicide and do some pretty fucking horrible thing but I'm not THAT sensitive. And come on, the leaker of that script was probably just one of the dudes over on Kotaku and let's be honest, anyone who works for Kotaku and considers themselves a competent person really needs some sense... Quite literally beaten into them.

OT: This is just annoying, not because it's a stupid petition (which it is) but because it's just helping people further their ideas that gamers a whiny brats. Someone feel free to prove me wrong but I don't see this kind of thing happening over movies.

Oh man, not this again. I wasn't expecting people to make sure that Bethesda will rush their own damn game. I rather wait for people to not take interest in their gaming development, so that Bethesda will find a better way to get the true attention. Better game, better polish, better marketing and so on. This force push is getting very ridiculous but I expect Bethesda should know better than releasing piss poor product.

How about asking for better mod tools or them making plugins for blender.... having to use nifscope to cut and paste to get a mesh/model to work after you make it in blender is annoying as hell.

On one hand I think Bethesda are kinda a bunch o dicks for not just tweeting that the survivor thing was a hoax. They were basically abusing it for publicity.

On the other hand it's not their responsibility to announce anything, and we shouldn't be whiny about it. Go play other things people.

Not to mention the fairly unique tactic of making almost an entire second campaign through DLC (which, even if it was a marketing gimmick to sell more DLC, made it much more interesting to find how each was connected to the other).

But I think Fallout could use (although doesn't need) another game. The question at this point is should that game be in the same style as FO3/NV or should they try and overhaul the core gameplay as well? There's still plenty to explore in terms of geography (the Rocky mountains, the Pacific Northwest, the area around Boston and New York City, Florida, Miami in particular, etc.), not to mention that they could easily shift it to before 2266 in terms of time.
