If you want to watch a fallout movie look up A Boy and His Dog.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072730/

It replays on cable every once and again, and is awesome.

Edit: Wow, the people in the comments section agree with me.
Lol I love A Boy and His Dog. Great Dark Comedy if you ask me.

In fact I think I am going to watch it right now.

If it's ever made it should avoid EVERYTHING from the game, i.e. be set in somewhere else than the games, use a new story, not make references to the games etc.
A movie would already be disappointing, a one that messes with the canon would be worse.

I have always considered movies based off things like books or games entirely seperate from the canon. Keeps you sane.

I do it too, but some people don't, there would be too much of a fuss about it.

Tarantino is the only one i think who could make a Fallout Movie and it not be utter shit
Ron Perelman Would HAVE to be in it in some capacity or another
I have to agree, Tarantino would be a nearly ideal choice for a Fallout movie, especially if he could team up with Peter Jackson.
oh god, that just made me nerdgasm, i need a cigarillo...

I doubt anyone could get the money necessary to produce a Fallout movie, but maybe a web-series like Mortal Kombat legacy would work.

I think it COULD work

not sure if they should directly adapt one of the storys of the games or just go with somthing in-universe

thats the thing about fallout it has alot of flexibility

The Book of Eli was basically a Fallout movie without the super mutants, and was actually pretty good to boot. It could work, but I don't know who I'd trust to do it.
LionsGate or Magnet. MAYBE even Magnolia.

I think it would be an interesting spin if it was done in a style similar to, but not exact to, Mutant Chronicles.

Fallout is so narrative based it seems natural that it would make an excellent movie...On the proviso it's about events that happen in between the games, or a prequel like they're doing for Planet of the Apes, to not ruin the actual games that birthed the movies.

Wow, less than thirty posts in and no one has mentioned Nuka Break, yet. Sure, it's only a fan film, but it's a damn good one!

OT: I don't think it would work. If you only set it in the same universe, that might work. But fully based off the games? No. Why? It's too big. Yes, there's a lot of stuff going on in the Fallout games: Vault's water chip, mutants, raiders, Brotherhood. It's just too much for one movie to handle. However, if they did a mini series, a game a season, that might work.

Movies based on beloved comics, video games and books create very high expectations. Though, it could be done, but we'd have to make sure the director has a good head on his shoulders, otherwise it'd be a major letdown.
