Ive only played dead money so my opinion isnt as complete as I would like it to be. However in dead money its a hit or miss depending on the player. DM is a pretty good survival horror kind of setting but I didnt get to do everything I wanted to do with the Sierra madre. If you like survival horroresque stories then its worth a play through, if you dont well there really isnt any unique gear or story reasons to get it

Actually in terms of story Dead Money adds quite a lot, it explains what happened to Father Elijah who is mentioned by Veronica and the BoS and it also gives quite a lot of infrmation about Ulysses and the Courier.
Plus the whole Sierra Madre has it's own storyline with Sinclair, Vera Keyes and Dean Domino which I found very interesting.
Ah but you are absolutely right, FONV is essentially a mission pack for FO3. However, it is an entire game (60 hours' worth) and there were substantial changes to both the weapons and the levelling system that in my opinion justified the price of a full game. In addition, it's a very different style when you compare it to FO3. Also, I don't think I paid more than about 25 quid for FONV. Not sure.
Frankly, I think they did just throw together some quests. However, I've yet to actually experience them so I obviously can't say for sure. Regardless, it doesn't compare with the development costs of creating an entirely new game. E.g. Portal.
I guess that I really can't argue the development cost aspect because I don't actually know how much a single 'arcade' game (I say arcade as I'm specifically talking about cheaper games like those you'd find on XBLA or PSN and I couldn't think or a better word for it) and/or expansions normally cost to make. I would guess they'd be pretty close really, but I could be wrong. I'd also say that at least Dead Money was a very different style from New Vegas, and the other two were fairly different at least. But I can understand what you mean there, I think.
I guess a better comparison would actually be the Half-Life games more then the difference between NV and Fallout 3. Half-Life 2, HL2:Episode 1, and HL2:Episode 2 really didn't seem very different to me in almost any aspect other then continuing the story. Even HL1 doesn't seem all that different from 2 in terms of gameplay. And each of these, individually, cost about $10 seperately. Of course, since they've been out for so long, you can get them all much cheaper in a pack, but that'll likely happen with the NV DLC as well once Lonesome Road has been out for a bit. That's just something I thought I'd add.
I'd say that if you love Fallout and have the cash, get all three. Combined, you'll get a much bigger, better, and more varied experience than expansion packs of old used to offer for the same price.
Dead Money and Honest Hearts REAlLY sucked, I mean Dead Money because of the whole collar thing and you couldnt return and Honest Hearts because of the huge enviroment and no insperation to explore it all, also the story sucked and bearly any new weapons.
BUT I think that Old World Blues improved it a lot, the story was awesome, the character were hell funny, alot new weapons and armour and the enviroment was huge and I was inspired to see it all.
Hoepfully the next DLC will kill all of them and be super aweosme, and really MAKE a DLC like Broken Steel where we continue the story, dont say you wont make it because we all know that everybody wants it!

It won't continue the game, this has been said many times.
And not everyone wants to play past the end, I don't, and I don't see what the problem is anyway. The ending slideshow gives us enough information on what happens after the game, both short time and in the future.

I really dont think it gives me enough infomation, doesnt even give you infomation if there is going to be a Fallout 4, I want to know what ultimatly happens in the climax of the Fallout series!
Also I want to know what happens to the Courier, the ending does not tell you anything ,unless I missed the part at the end where he kills all evil in the Wastes, makes an allience with the lone wonderer, makes NCR and the Brotherhood (East and vages) Join forces and they cleanse the wastes and then the world...I THINK I MISSED THAT PART!

New Vegas isn't the climax, at what point was it said that NV would be the last Fallout game? What you just said does not make any sense at all.

The Courier, fair and even-handed in his/her dealings throughout the Wasteland, was honored by the NCR for his/her support of the military at Hoover Dam. He/she was presented with the Golden Branch, the highest civilian decoration given by the republic.
Though the Courier's agenda was debated by many, he/she was honored by NCR for his/her support of the military at Hoover Dam. He/she was presented with the Golden Branch, the highest civilian decoration given by the Republic.
With brutal methods that few in NCR would approve of, it was the Courier who secured NCR's victory at Hoover Dam. Despite his/her extreme actions, he/she was awarded with the Golden Branch, the highest civilian decoration given by the Republic.
Though the Courier himself/herself was just and forthright in his/her dealings throughout the Wasteland, he/she helped the Legion achieve victory. Caesar honored him/her with a golden coin, minted in celebration of his/her contributions and distributed throughout the wasteland.
The Courier, a mercenary at heart, helped the Legion achieve victory at Hoover Dam. Caesar honored him/her with a golden coin, minted in celebration of his/her contributions and distributed throughout the wasteland.
The Legion marched over the Hoover Dam with the help of one who was as brutal and merciless as the worst of them: The Courier. Caesar honored him/her with a golden coin, minted in celebration of his/her contributions and distributed throughout the wasteland.

The Courier, fair and kind-hearted to those in the Wasteland, ensured that Mr. House would keep New Vegas stable and secure for future generations. Mr. House afforded him/her every luxury at his disposal in the Lucky 38, out of gratitude - and a quiet sense of pride for his choice in lieutenants.
The Courier, who had a mixed history in the Wasteland, kept the status quo at Hoover Dam. Mr. House would keep New Vegas stable, if not free, for generations. Mr. House afforded the Courier every luxury at his disposal in the Lucky 38.
The Courier, cruel and merciless, had ensured that Mr. House would maintain complete control over New Vegas and everyone in it. Mr. House afforded him/her every luxury at his disposal in the Lucky 38, partly out of gratitude, and partly out of fear.
Supporting the ideals of independence, the Courier was recognized as the man/woman responsible for a truly free New Vegas. He/she ensured Mr. House's tyranny was broken and neither Caesar's Legion nor NCR would ever gain control over New Vegas.
Preferring neither the best of the NCR nor the worst of the Legion, the Courier was the man/woman responsible for a truly independent New Vegas. He/she had removed Mr. House from power over the Strip and broken the influence of the NCR and Caesar's Legion in the Mojave Wasteland.
Supporting all the chaos that comes with independence, the Courier was the man/woman responsible for a truly free New Vegas. He/she ensured the fall of Mr. House and the end of the Legion's and NCR's influence over New Vegas.
Invigorated by his travels with The Courier, Raul once more took up his guns in memory of his lost Rafaela. Soon after, the Mojave was filled with tales of the ghost-vaquero who hunts down those who prey on the weak.
Convinced that his time as a gunslinger was past, Raul made peace with the idea of growing old. After traveling with The Courier for a time, he retired and settled down in Outer Vegas, where he would spend his days fixing ancient machinery.
Tricked by The Courier and imprisoned by the Legion, Arcade remained Caesar's personal physician for several years. Caesar grew fond of speaking with such an educated man on philosophical matters. Arcade became his unwilling intellectual sparring partner. After years of such servitude, during an unguarded moment, Arcade used a surgical scalpel and his bare hands to disembowel himself. Lacking any other skilled medical personnel, the Legion was unable to prevent his death. Caesar mourned his loss for months.
That night, Cass kicked in the door of his room to celebrate, only to find the man on the bed was an NCR soldier whose barracks had been destroyed. He was cute, though, so after having her way with him, she got the hell out, leaving an empty whiskey bottle as a note. As she walked along the Dam in the night, she felt drunk, content, and happy to be alive. Which to her, was the whole point of it all.
So she laughed, said fuck it all, and raised a bottle to the Dam and the ones who had fought for it. As far as she was concerned, the whole thing was proof that playing out a bad hand can pay off in the end... as long as someone/a woman like The Courier was holding the cards.
Yeah, I'm going to stop there because there are just so many ending slides that tell you about the Courier that I'll just point you here so you can read them all.
Also how could he make an alliance with the Lone Wanderer if he is on the east coast and the Courier is on the west coast? Also the BoS in the Capital Wasteland are not like the BoS in California and Nevada, they're very different and don't see eye to eye, that's why the Outcasts were formed. Also the BoS aren't as all powerful as F3 made them out to be, they are supossed to be a xenophobic, conservative group who care only for themselves.

I didnt say that NV is the climax im just wondering are they going to include a connection to the next Fallout (and hopefully it will have a bigger plot),
Also I mean after he recieved the Golden Branch (I was good), what happens afterward that, he ventures into the wastes (again) but what happens to him, he cant just live happily ever after, even your guy from Fallout 3 got ressurected for another adventure. (sorry for the spelling)
And there is always a chance they may meet...or be the same person, mabey the BoS of the west and the east combine (again) and realise that the Eastern BoS were right? (Outcasts suck but do form a selfish point), and mabey because of the Lone Wonderer and The courier they have changed their ways (The Western BoS and the Outcasts), so they team up with the Eastern BoS for a better future.
That may happen (but still depends if your good or not)
A big chance that may happen.

There shouldn't be a connection to future Fallouts because we don't know what the canon ending is, we don't know whether it will be NCR, Legion, House or independent.
Also this is a role-playing game, telling the player all of the significant details about what the courier did after the main quest would ruin that, the ending shows the short term events of the courier's life.

Uhh no they're not the same person, Obsidian would never do something like that, it wouldn't make sense. the Lone Wanderer and Courier are two completely different people; in F3 you are shown your childhood and teenage years, in NV you are given a clean slate and with the story of Ulysses it is clear that the Courier has his own histor.
Also in NV the Courier can be any age, so if you made him 50 or something really old it wouldn't make sense as the LW is 19 years old as of 2277, and NV is set 4 years after F3.
The eastern BoS left California for a reason, why would they just come back? I don't know what your obsession with them joining together is, but it just wouldn't make sense in the story and I never see it happening. You should really look more into the BoS, because I don't think you seem to know much about their history or ethics.
Or, you know, it's how the developers earn some money after a release cycle by offering extra content after a game is officially released. I do think that DLC is restricted to characters that don't offer much or simple reskins, it's a rip off. But when the DLC actually expands on the original game and offers more of it, as these do, it's a good thing. The worst thing I could say about these DLC packs is that they share the same problem as the main game on release in that they can be buggy as hell (Honest Hearts has crashed my PC at least 5 times).
It is a WASTE OF MONEY. I would barely pay 22 quid for the full game right now, let alone a few more hours of DLC.
If these packs were priced at say, £2.50 each, I would not hesitate to buy them.
Instead of wasting time adding massively overpriced additional content, they should concentrate on making the next game. This blatant cash grab is both sad and pathetic.
You really think they're going to dedicate all their time to Fallout 4 when Skyrim is just on the horizon? They probably have Fallout 4 in the pre-production stages of development while they finish of Skyrim and the Lonesome Road with smaller teams (let's face it, Bethesda probably doesn't have a massive group testing their games).
Those three pieces of DLC cost less than your normal game and offer more play time than most long games, I reckon each one is worth 4-5 hours of gameplay. If you're that stingy then fine, I'm often the same myself, but it isn't a waste of money and it sure as shit isn't bleeding gamers for their last few pennies.
Bethesda are one of the few companies who do DLC right. No overpriced map packs, no cut main story missions, no extra costumes (discounting horse armour), just extra content.
OT: I don't have any of the DLC yet, sadly. However the one that I'm looking forward to most is the Lonesome Road. They're all good standalone packs, that's a Bethesda standard, but all of the content and some of the game has always been pointing at the Lonesome Road. I guess I'll have to get and play through the first three before I play it though.
I suggest you just wait till a GotY edition comes out with them all on. If you sell your original copy then you should be able to get them all for an even cheaper price, if you don't want to spend more than you need to.

Not really, if you use Fallout 3 as an example, the DLC in that game were not connected to the game's story (except Broken Steel) and none of them were connected to each other in any way. The majority of them were all mainly just to introduce more loot, this is very different to the New Vegas DLC which focuses more on story and characters and all of them are connected to each other or the Mojave in some way.
Uh, no they don't. I said that they should be focusing on their next game instead of endlessly releasing DLC, and you said they were too busy with Skyrim. How does that point make sense when you consider Obs aren't even working on Skyrim?
Obsidian aren't set to make every Fallout game from now on, it's more likely that Bethesda will make it themselves. The only thing that's changed is that Obsidian are making and releasing DLC, they don't own the IP so they can't legally make the next Fallout game. If you had your way then Fallout 4 and Skyrim would be competing products which is one of the worst things a business can do to itself.

You've misunderstood my original post then, I never said that Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas had the same kind of DLC, just that they were both good. Fallout 3's DLC does focus more on small quests while New Vegas has an overarching story starting from the main game. However, that doesn't mean that Fallout 3's DLC was merely loot drops, it's far better than your typical 'Assault Pack' that gives you 5 new guns and 2 skins. Bethesda has always done good DLC and, from the sound of it, Skyrim will improve on that.
