Fallout new vegas: first Gameplay Footage

The first gameplay footage of fallout new vegas has popped up on IGN.com today.

The video is very short, but has new info on brand new weapons such as the grenade machinegun and the orbital laser you can control. The sad thing about the video is that it does show alot of dialog (which is supposibly improved from fallout 3) but their should be more videos about that side of the game when E3 arrives in a fortnight's time.

I'm almost crying tears of joy right now. It's fallout 3, my favourite game of all time....and you can aim down the sight. It was literally my one wish for New Vegas. The only thing I wanted changed. They did it.

You know, this reminds me of back when I was getting excited for Fallout 3 and watching all the preview videos as soon as I could and looked up everything I could...

I really hope they don't mess this up, and by the looks of it they will be... it seems like they're taking the Fallout 3 model and shoving extra crap down its throat... but who knows, this could turn out better than I expect.

I know right? Serious nerdgasm. F3 was my favorite game of all time too, even the amazing Mass Effect 2 couldn't get as much love as it did from me.

Aim down sights would have improved Fallout 3 so so much.

Though I didn't see it happen in the video... I hope the coommentator wasn't talking out his ass.

Aiming down the sights? That will make no-HUD runs barely a challenge. Awww... Hopefully Hardcore mode makes up for that.

Which to me isn't a bad thing at all. Due to having the writers from Fallout 2 onboard, I feel this could be the best Fallout yet.

I totally feel the same as you, I remember seeing those first videos of the Capital Wasteland and getting so excited, this vid had exactly the same effect. In engine/atmosphere improvement terms, Oblivion to Fallout 3 should = Fallout 3 to New Vegas.

This...is generally what I was a little worried about when I saw the vid.

Granted I would've been wetting my pants a while back when it was DLC-era. But -NOW- we're expecting a completely new and upgraded game... right?...

Look on youtube for it, if it's not there check tommorow maybe? IGN has a channel.

Did anyone else notice how fast the guy was talking? Like they only had a minute of footage and didn't want to show that was all they had by repeating it?

Or they wanted to get it out before anyone else could?

...on the Bethesda engine though. Hopefully with a few bugs cleaned up. I am willing it to be amazing... please let it be amazing.

I dunno, maybe I'm being silly and naive but I have never been so excited about a game, except maybe Mass Effect 2.
