I noticed that in the Steam sale that started about 45 minutes ago, Fallout: New Vegas is only £8.99. My question to you bros and broettes is whether or not you think I should get it at this price.

Discussion Value: Walruses. Cool, aren't they?

Totally worth it. A little buggy now and then but good story and tons of extras.

Walruses: They got nothin' on polar bears. Pudgy lumps of edible bits...

Yeah, why not? It's a good game. Not quite as good as Fallout 3 and it took me a while before I actually started to like it, but it is good. Only the ENORMOUS amounts of bugs let it down, but the mods you could get for it more than make up for that.

Oh, and Walruses are VERY cool. Forget sunglasses, wear a walrus.

Calumon: Be toothy! :D

I say worth it, especially if you enjoyed Fallout 3. I also agree that walruses are cool, way cooler than seals.

If you enjoyed Fallout 3 and want a bit more, then yes get it. If you want something completely different and new, then pass on it.

Walruses, most epic tusks in the animal kingdom.

I've never played Fallout 3, would I need to to understand it?

Yes, worth it. If you like your RPGs shooty and your shooters RPG-ish, it's a great game... and since you're considering it on Steam, consider this as well:
http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38326 -community bug fix mod. The game had fewer bugs than Fallout 3, for me... but I understand that isn't the case with some folks.

I think that it is worth it. I can't speak for the PC version (I played on 360), but after the first patch I didn't experience many super game ending glitches, or even any visual hangups. I had one freeze midway, and the ending was laggy - that's all. And this was before that super patch that was released in December.

As for the game itself, it kept my interest a lot more than Fallout 3. The world was more enjoyable I found, though the ability to have sidekicks helped a lot with that.

EDIT: Walruses are okay with me. They've been made into a cool Pokemon, though the list of animal that doesn't include is getting shorter.

Only thing that carries over is the Brotherhood of Steel and that is only slightly. The have completely different storylines. Just take place in the same universe.

There is little plot or character carry-over from Fallout 3 to New Vegas. Game play is similar, but even if you aren't familiar with it from Fallout 3, New Vegas has a pretty good (and somewhat optional) tutorial.

The gameplay is similar to Fallout 3, but the game is better in every way. Personally, I recommend it. I think it is a very good game.

And the Walrus is my mortal enemy.

Totally worth it, man, especially at that price. You'd be a fool not to get it.

Also, Disney put me off walruses for good. They truly are the Devil's agents.
