Could someone please remind me what happens in hardcore mode in fallout vegas?
Your companions can die (otherwise they're knocked unconscious), you need water and food or you die (if you don't have enough to get you from A to B, you can't fast travel either), Ammo has weight, healing isn't instant, and Fisto will violate you on sight.

And here I was thinking "hardcore" mode is having a single save slot, being only able to save when you quit the game, a save which gets deleted when you die.

Normal to begin with so I can learn where key things are etc then once I've finished it attempt hardcore with some prior knowledge. But I'll probably be absolutely rubbish at it.

I'm going for hardcore mode straight from the beginning, it'll be much more realistic and will make the game so much better. Not that it'll need to be any better.

would i be correct in saying that hardcore is seperate from difficulty? if so then i may play on normal hardcore
Hardcore Means you HAVE TO eat, drink, sleep and do pretty much everything thats makes us human.

We are all humans here right?

OT:No i won't play it on hardcore at least not at first, because doing all that stuff seems like a humongous pain in the ass.

I've already played Fallout in Hardcore mode. So I have experience in it.
Hardcore mode is just a copy of the Fallout 3 mod: "Fallout Wanderer's Edition".

In fact, most of the new features that are found in Fallout New Vegas are ideas that have been copied from the most popular Fallout 3 mods.

Can't wait to start modding New Vegas.
Yep, and the primary needs portion of FWE did nothing to make the game more "immersive" and instead just made it more annoying at every turn. Especially considering a full meal could give you radiation poisoning and the drop rates for anti-radiation meds were reduced.

Normal game for me the first play through, I'll punish myself with hard and/or hardcore afterwards...
