Fallout New Vegas: How to wait for it

I really want to try out the new fallout game coming out, New Vegas, but it isan't coming out for a little while. I want to know what stuff I should do before the game comes out. Don't say, somthing like "Play 1, 2, and 3" because I already am playing 3 and I don't want to make a new file...because I already did good and I am not the type of person to do evil. And I don't want to buy fallout 1 or 2.

Also, when the game comes out, should I try Hardcore, even through I am gonna suck? I mean, if I do normal I will do good, and once I try hardcore, I may not be able to be evil.


ALSO. What do you think of the game?

I like to play through more then once and try out all the difficulties you should do hardcore on your second play through once you have a feel for the game and develop your tactics, if it's too hard then just switch back...

I'm really excited to see the New California Republic make a return, but also really hope they go overboard in testing for glitches this time around...

Fallout 3 doesn't build on the first two, atleast not in a very good way. Not having played the first two is the best way to enjoy the third even. The first two should be played because they're masterpieces, not to increase the enjoyment of the third and any future games.

Oddly enough, that's exactly what I'm doing. I keep trying to convince a friend to lend me his copy of the third Fallout. He won't do it. He keeps giving me peculiar tasks. I have to retrieve a game from another friend, which I don't think he even has. Or I could buy him a special lighter.

You have to occasionally drink water to not die?

I would'nt tell anyone to play on hard modes if you wanna enjoy a game because you WILL die and you WILL stop playing the game. Now if your a throphy whore like me and you need to play hard mode for it then by all means.

As for my feelings about New Vegas, well.. They aren't really too hyped. I mean, other than the T.V. robot with the cowboy for a face, it really doesn't look too different from Fallout 3.

It's a new game, being developed by a different company (Obsidian I think), using the Fallout 3 engine and gameplay elements

I know you don't want to buy the first two, but they're dirt cheap on Steam and well worth getting.

The next game is being made by members of the original team so there will be a lot of references to Fallout 1 and 2 which you just won't get unless you've played the originals.
