Fallout New Vegas: How to wait for it

If Fallout: New Vegas has the gameplay similar to Fallout 3, it's all I need to know.

but frankly, I'm not gonna go for any other game until I get my hands on Mass Effect 2, New Vegas is second on my list.

I know you don't want to buy the first two, but they're dirt cheap on Steam and well worth getting.

The next game is being made by members of the original team so there will be a lot of references to Fallout 1 and 2 which you just won't get unless you've played the originals.

Or I can use the wiki to look up some certain things.

I'm talking about little in-jokes, place names, character dialogue... Wiki isn't going to tell you every reference in the game.

Actually, the wiki does. That's the scary thing.

Perhaps, but honestly that's not going to be as satisfying as finding them yourself in the game.

Play Oblivon or Morrowind for a while, then play New Vegas as you wait or TES:5 to come out.

Every week, set aside $2. By the time the game comes out you'll be ready for it. And as you watch that little kitty you've set aside grow, the bigger it gets, the closer you'll be to the game's launch!

I have a friend who is a VIP at EB games or something, and that they have given him a prerelease copy of Fallout:new vagas because they love him so huggy-muggy-much and that hes going to lend it to me, though I have a sneaking suspicion
that hes bullshiting me.

I'm pretty sure a "Pre Release Copy" wouldn't just be "lended" to anyone..I have a definite suspicion he is bullshitting you.

You can't fully appreciate Fallout without at least watching some of the source material first.

I'm still waiting for them to bring the Thunderdome into Fallout. Vegas would be a perfect place for it.

pfff you're not worthy of Fallout... if you don't play the 2 first ones, you will certainly won't understand many of the tidbits of the evolution of the factions, or of specific characters...

You'll have to pardon me, but you know, having a family, working upwards of 70 hours a week and having a life outside of video games does tend to put one behind the information curve. Had I heard of New Vegas? Yes, but had not heard it was a stand alone game.
