Alright so a bit of time has passed since New Vegas is out(a lot actually) and the modders have started kicking. There's some truly awesome mods that really enhance the experience so I thought we should have a thread to share what we've found because not every good mod sits in the top 100(a lot of them are lore unfriendly or more type 3 body armor mods which I despise).Personally I'd prefer to keep it lore friendly, less cosmetic with anime girls or with overpowered gear that's dropped behind the starting point but you're free to share.

Right now I'm running:

New Vegas Bounties 1 and 2 - great mod and especially on the second there's some awesome voice acting while keeping it lore friendly.

Project Nevada - from the guy that did FWE which got the primary needs incorporated in NV basically. He adds visor modifications like heat vision, night vision etc and a screen if you're wearing some sort of glasses that get broken up as they reduce in item health which might remind people of Metro 2033.There's also some really good pieces of gear scattered around with custom skins which are pretty much lore friendly and look amazing. They don't make or break the game and if you feel it's too easy the PN mod also allows you to tweak things like base hp,hp per level,hp per Endurance point and best of all % experience gained.I found that awesome even if you use nothing else as I noticed you get to level 30 way too fast(although dlcs raise the level cap).

Willow - I actually removed her after a while because she adds way too many perks and she's added on top of the 2 companions.Oh and she comes with a dog.She collects junk by herself, adds 30 barter, comes with a Brush gun as soon as you do her quite easy quest, adds the pack rat perk after a quest to collect 40 pencils for her and she gives you 30 speech permanently after some quest. The voice acting otherwise is quite good, she's lore friendly(this is becoming a recurring point). Her singing does get annoying after a while...

And that's about what caught my eye although I was planning to try out Area 51 and EVE.

I use this site to download mods: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/ if you would like I could provide individual links.

Oh Project N is finished now? Fantastic. I was waiting for that before taking another shot at the buggy mess that is NV. Thanks for the heads up, man.

Only bad spot is that it uses the newest betas of NVSE which might cause some extra crashes.Oh and it hasn't been updated since the new version went up.

How about EVE (Essential Visual Enhancements), i've been waiting for it to be released for ages.

just to bad my gaming computer has busted

edit: just read the last bit. EVE should be good, but the main mod which always should be used is the open strip mod. can't play vegas with it been split up.

Looked cool but way too flashy. They also improved animations on normal weapons not just energy weapons.I don't understand what you're saying about the main mod.Why can't you play Vegas with it?

I meant the Open strip mod, It just travel to the areas on the strip with 3 more load screens and on top of that loading the inside of buildings annoyed me.

I saw a mod with some recon armor with the pieces found throughout the Mojave. It looks cool at least and didn't seem to have gamebreaking stats. The look reminds me of Dune/Lost Planet thermal suits with a scarf.

Honestly, this [http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38326] mod should be required for all PC users.

There's also quite a few bug-fix mods, but that one bundles most of 'em together. Which is awesome.

hows the support patch to patch wise? i'm having vegas a rest til last DLC now.

OT: another mods i uses with are still sort lore friendly are the new power armors such as the vault-tec on and airforce power armor. Although The remnants is still the best looking one.

Good enough. Haven't had any problems with it after the latest patch(1.4).

They also did a rather large bugfix about a week ago. I'm not sure and I wouldn't be surprised if it created other problems, so I'd suggest getting a community bugfix anyway if you're going to play it.

I've modded the hell out of NV. Right now i'm running Project Nevada (essential as far as I'm concerned), Bottle that water (let's you bottle water from any source and adds empty bottles after you drink), a factionless ranger armor mod (again, essential), a mod that re-chambers 'That Gun' to 44 mag. (my favorite gun in the game, being that i'm a huge fan of Blade Runner, but the vanilla version is way to weak) and a fix for Cass' quest that makes the van-graffs not hostile after going with the good option (collecting evidenve to bring them down, normally after this they would attack you on sight, basssically negating the option of not murdering them), and that's it. All in all, with these mods the game is exactly what i hoped for.

Que? I have honest hearts as well, i didn't realize anything like that was present there. Where do you find it? Oh, and on the subject of power armor, i found a mod called realistic power armor that makes it so the armor doesn't weigh as much while you're wearing it and retools the stat increase a little (no more minus to agility is what sold me on it). You should check that out if power armor is your thing.

above the Sorrows Camp there alot of caves have a look for the one called Stone Bones Cave in there near a terminal there desert combat armor and helmet on display. sounds good, power armors are oen of the main things for fallout games.

I would like to mod this game. Problem is, there is nothing on the nexus about learning how to do it in the first place.

In what aspect?

To add mod to your game use this tool http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36901.

And to make mod any simple mod can be done with the GECK form the new vegas site, they have a whole modding wiki.

Those are incorporated in Project Nevada and are put in fairly difficult locations.

I still use power armors or dusters(there's an amazing duster with a black texture which you get from the NCR merc who threatens Jacobstown).I think That Gun should remain a 5-10 level weapon. The bonus critical is quite good. And I don't see the point in bottle that water as PN allows you to use Sunset Sarsaparilla and Nuke Cola as intended - for hydration/sleep.
