Fallout: New Vegas. New Character

I've beaten FNV twice so far (I know...) and I want to play a gambler/diplomat type but I'm wondering what weapon group I should go with. Basically energy weapons with the RCW (laser tommy gun) or guns with some kind of smg.
All suggestions are welcome.

There's like a version of every gun for each. SO it doesn't really matter imo.

I prefer guns though, much more satisfying.

Agreed. Though it is funny to see your enemy melt into a puddle of goop every now and then.

I'd go with guns... but that might be because I hate laser guns of all types in and out of the Fallout universe.

I love the RCW, but it's incredibly hard to find enough ammo to satisfy it regularly. So go with Guns, or if you want to be really far out there, explosives.

Hmmmm when I play I never put any SPECIAL points into Luck and put them in Strengh so in the early levels I can loot alot or use meelee attacks

diplomat go with unarmed! when your words fail just punch them till they see it your way.

Go for Melee or Unarmed. If you can't convince them with words, convince them with a tire iron to the kneecap

I plan on doing a playthrough as an energy weapons/science/chem maker guy. Who smokes. (Where's my drug mod?!)
