PC.

It's made on the Fallout 3 engine and, if memory serves, the PS3 port was inferior to the PC & 360 versions.

As far as people saying that Fallout 3 was worse on PS3 than the other 2 versions: That's absolutely true, but that shouldn't automatically condemn New Vegas. It was a bad port on their part, doesn't mean it's gonna happen again.

Still, PC is the best choice, just please don't claim that it's gonna be buggy on PS3, just because Fallout 3 was.

PC version if you want endless mods to customize your game to the experience you want.

PS3 if you like the controllers.

Mods, plus 3rd party fixes to the inevitable game breaking bugs (this is the Gamebryo Engine we are talking about) plus the fact that you said you prefer keyboard. Id say PC is a safe bet.

If you dont want the steam version just buy retail and you might not have to tie it to a steam account.

Also, if I were you Id check to make sure your computer can even run the game. Check this http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI

Which of your seats is the most comfortable? Your computer chair, or your couch? Also, wait till the game comes out, in case if the PS3 has some weird issue or the other way around.

EDIT: All done now, thanks everyone, pre ordered my PC version!
You made the right choice. Now I'm going to go through your reasoning.

I Don't really like steam, it'll take ages to download, although I can make mods, I never mod anything. Not full HD monitor.
Download doesn't matter :S Once you have it it's done :S If it is really a concern get it from a friend. And your monitor... Plug in your full HD TV. That's what I've done.

My reasons for PS3:
Trophies, (I don't have any Steam friends, I'm a loner, feels bad.), My other friends will be getting it for PS3, I'll get it a day early, I have a full HD TV
Achievements was your reason for debating platforms?! WHAT?!

And yeah, plug the PC into the TV.

I replied to this thread because I have a simple rule when deciding what platform:

PC>all unless it is a poorly put together port (ALA GTA IV).

PC has everything consoles have and more:
- same controls if you want (I use my Xbox controller for some games)
- better graphics (unless you have a terribad computer)
- more HDD space
- mods for many games, sometimes mods that improve the game out of sight like Oblivion (can't play it vanilla) and Fallout 3
- better controls for shooters. Pit the best PC Halo players against the best console players. Oh wait they already did. Remember Dreamcast Quake players vs PC players?
- more versatility, word processing etc

If you have the money PC is a no brainer. If you have more money get them all. It's what I did.

mods times million i mean mods made fallout 3 worth playing period.

steam is not that bad really how is steam that much different than xbl or psn? you want updates and junk you have to be online? yea you have to connect online to launch the game but after steam has been launched you can put it in offline mode and play the game whenever you want.

if steam is slow try changing your dl region the client lest in the past has had a nasty habit of auto seleting the worst dl servers i think after one update steam had me dling from indonesia or something silly when i am in the usa needless to say is was getting horrible dl until i went to check the settings.

Without a doubt the PC version is the version to get.... Not only should it look and run better, but you know full well that it will get a huge quantity of user made mods.

I agree that one should never pick up for a particular platform just because of some arbitrary and worthless point system.
Unfortunately in our house the only pc we have that could run this is used for a few different things (I have to rebuild my desktop) and if this is half as interesting as F3, either my wife or I will be playing it at any one time, so we got the ps3 version. Otherwise (if just for the mods) I commend OP on the PC choice.

I have some competitive friends, we often all put money into a hat and the first person to achieve a platinum...Well anything on said game... Or anything really takes the prize.

Also with us all having gone off different ways, some to uni others to work, keeping an eye on everyone's trophies is a nice way to see how everyone is getting on.

My level or score or whatever isn't terribly important, it's just something fun we do.

PC. Unless they have fixed the horrible aiming on the consoles then its not really a hard decision.
