I'm adopting the "wait and see" approach to it. Since if there are ass-loads of bugs, by the time I get it the mod-community will have most of them fixed.
That line kind of me sad, almost like the devs are being lazy, "this game has a few bugs" ... "So? We will release it and let the mod community deal with it".

On topic. No matter how it comes out it will sell well. I won't be getting it 'cos number 3 bored and annoyed me.

The leveling system was a joke, max level of 20? Far too low.

(I played it on PS3, so no mods for me)

On Fallout 3:
Should I get the version for the XBox 360 that comes with all the DLC for 68 Australian dollars? (60 if there's a pre-owned edition)

No, I won't get a PC version because I'm on a Mac.
No, I won't get a PC because I like my laptop and my old Windows was a buggy piece of turdburgers (but just that laptop, the desktops are good)
No. Buy the PC version or don't buy it at all.

I found the game without mods to be an adventure into repetitive tedium, were all the interesting weapons from Fallout 1 & 2 were replaced with the most generic named peashooters and power armour was more "tin-plate condom" than anything to do with power, let alone armour.

Well, as I said, I can't buy the PC version because I have a Mac.
There's no Mac version.
So I kinda have to buy the 360 version if I want to play it.
And I don't mind repetitiveness, I got lost in Morrowind.
Christ, those mountains get confusing.

As someone who enjoyed Morrowind, I have to say that Fo3 isn't as good. Morrowind had a varied landscape (You want to tell me tundra, mushroom tree covered grasslands, ashen deserts and volcanic wastelands aren't varied?). Fallout 3 is brown, brown and more brown. It also feels a lot smaller, too (though the DLC alleviates that some).

But you'll regret buying the console version when you find something you don't like about it and realise that the PC's mods could fix it. Too brown? There's a plants mod. Combat not realistic enough? There's a realism mod. Wondering why the animation on that alien gun is fucked? There's a community patch mod.

Here's the big question about New Vegas though: Have they added a diagonal movement animation?
This made me laugh... I dont see why it's so hard to do so anyway, bethesda you have no excuse! XD

Eh....it will lose my interest easily just like fallout 3 did. [sub] was too easy and once you've found it all there is really no point in doing it again...[/sub]
It's coming with a Hardcore Mode which should add an extra level of difficulty. You have to eat, drink and sleep to survive (so no running around for 48 hours straight on a diet of Stimpaks), Stimpaks heal over time rather than straight away, and ammo actually has a weight, limiting how much you can carry. No effect on damage or anything (I assume difficulty comes into that) but it should make it interesting as it will force you to tweak your playstyle.
yeah, that feature alone is why i'm interested in this game, at last a mode that is pretty close to a hardcore RPG :D

I just can't wait to see what new stuff they've put in,and if it's going to be funnier or more challenging is just a huge bonus to me :]

Having played it for half an hour at PAX it felt like just more Fallout 3 which isn't a bad thing, it seemed a tad more aimed towards realism. A .44 blew a man's head off in one shot.

I will definitely get New Vegas, Fallout 3 was amazing, also a big fan of the original fallouts, so I guess my Fanboy-ism will likely get the best of me when this comes out.lol

It will be a lot better story wise, and I guess feel more like a true blue Fallout Game thanks to it being handled by a lot of the folks that did Fallout 2, which imo is probably the best old school computer Shooting RPG ever.

Well, I would.
IF IT WORKED.
I've tried to Boot Camp it 3 times, and to the answer that 'certain files could not be moved'.
I don't know why, but I'd like it to work so I can get FO3, and it wold be nice so I can ALSO get Alien Swarm!

i am waiting to see if the game will be like fallout 2, because fallout 3 was sorta like fallout 1...
Excuse me?
I'd like to know your logic on that post.
simple plot of Fallout 1

Leave your home for the first time ever, to find water chip, defeat some mutants, stop some evil virus

fallout 3, find your dad, defeat some mutants, defeat the enclave, fix the water, find a geck.

pretty much all the things I did in fallout 1 and 2.

so id be pretty pissed in fallout new vegas makes me do the following

go to new reno and do a bunch of missions to befriend different mob families. go to san Francisco to get to an oil rig..

sorry but other than a few side optional quests in fallout 3, it was a rehash of old fallout games..

not saying i didn't enjoy it at parts.. but i did see a lot of the same exact themes.. just watered down for little kids... the took out the sex, violence, drugs, profanity, and the grittiness... and it was lacking on humor...

Er, Fallout 3 was released in 2008, so I'd say Obsidian (while production didn't necessarily start right at the end of Fallout 3) had plenty of time.

I'm skeptical enough not to Pre-Order, but excited enough to have it on the top of my list, so I'll be waiting with bated breath.

Meh. Plotwise, I guess it was kinda (very slightly maybe?) similar.

Too bad the gameplay was shockingly bad.
