I like family guy and south park. I don't think that any subject should be off limits for humour.

yes. the point of family guy is to push socially accepted boundaries. If a cancer patient can make cancer jokes then why can't I? Equal rights!

Are people only now realizing Family Guy is utter crap?
Wow I hope so. I didn't think anyone else thought that about Family Guy. It is one of the worst shows I've ever seen that was "rated" so highly.

Laziest writing and some of the worst animation.

if something gets stupidly popular FOX will go nuts over it.then when the show starts slipping they throw in shock laughs...

I think its just comedy and if you can't laugh at something then you've just let it take over your life with fear of it, like 9/11 jokes I always find them funny and I loved the AIDS song in family guy and regularly sing it to one of my friends who dates a total slut.

You're offended because they've apparently made a cancer joke in the new episode or something? How did all of the episodes having laughs at Jeremy, the kid on perpetual chemo, get past your notice?

As an actual cancer patient, I can tell you that those jokes are freaking hilarious.

I've hated Family Guy since the moment I watched more than 5 seconds of it. Every so often I turn it on just to make sure it hasn't suddenly become funny. It hasn't yet.

Seriously. The writing would be epically bad, except it's not even good enough to qualify for that. The funny thing is that American Dad was done by a lot of the same people, but in my opinion is much more enjoyable. It's like Family Guy done right.

Hey, even South Park has made fun of Family Guy, and they did it pretty well too, so what does that tell you? But I still find family guy pretty damn funny, I just wish that the creator would just stick with one show so we could have consistant new episodes, not one every 2 months. Now he has 3, the newest addition being The Clevelands, which has yet to air, but last nights American Dad was just awsome.

Your right to free speech is invalidated whenever you abuse it to make jokes on other people's expense without even feeling slightly guilty for it. (This doesn't mean just Internet trolls, I'm pointing my blade at the entire Earth's population with that statement)

With that being said, South Park, Family Guy AND The Simpsons seriously need to be shut down and banned before they face court charges for defamation of character and or other equally ghastly sins - like making people commit suicide because of an AIDS joke etc.

No it isn't, the right to speak freely means exactly that, the clue is in the 'right to free speech' bit. Just because you don't like what people say does not invalidate their right to say it. If anything it validates the reasons for having such a right, so that people's opinions are heard. You don't get to arbitrate what can and cannot be said because you find it unpalatable, that sort of thinking gives rise to police states.

I pray I never live in a world where people can be taken to court for humour.

If you live long enough, you will develop cancer. It is a great unifier.

I'm just glad we still live in a world where we can laugh at it and we should thank Family Guy for providing the laughs.

I know one episode of family guy actually got banned from being aired on TV. I've totally forgotten the name, but it was almost constant jokes on jewish and catholic communities.
Its still on the DVDs though, and still hilarious.
Things like family guy make jokes that might offend some, or plenty of people. I doubt there is ever anything they would draw the line at.
Though thats how i see it as justified. Its not like they constantly target one specific group to insult, but they insult everyone.
