yes. the point of family guy is to push socially accepted boundaries. If a cancer patient can make cancer jokes then why can't I? Equal rights!sorry user name taken. said:..am i the only one that thinks its going to far?
Wow I hope so. I didn't think anyone else thought that about Family Guy. It is one of the worst shows I've ever seen that was "rated" so highly.Sindaine said:Are people only now realizing Family Guy is utter crap?
if something gets stupidly popular FOX will go nuts over it.then when the show starts slipping they throw in shock laughs...Sane Man said:Wow I hope so. Laziest writing and some of the worst animation.
I've hated Family Guy since the moment I watched more than 5 seconds of it. Every so often I turn it on just to make sure it hasn't suddenly become funny. It hasn't yet.Sane Man said:Wow I hope so. No it isn't, the right to speak freely means exactly that, the clue is in the 'right to free speech' bit. Just because you don't like what people say does not invalidate their right to say it. If anything it validates the reasons for having such a right, so that people's opinions are heard. You don't get to arbitrate what can and cannot be said because you find it unpalatable, that sort of thinking gives rise to police states.Cid SilverWing said:Your right to free speech is invalidated whenever you abuse it to make jokes on other people's expense without even feeling slightly guilty for it. (This doesn't mean just Internet trolls, I'm pointing my blade at the entire Earth's population with that statement)
With that being said, South Park, Family Guy AND The Simpsons seriously need to be shut down and banned before they face court charges for defamation of character and or other equally ghastly sins - like making people commit suicide because of an AIDS joke etc.
Starrman, you are right. Cid SilverWing, you are really wrong. Just...SO wrong I can almost taste it. Wait, yeah I can taste it. Kinda like lemons.starrman said:No it isn't, the right to speek freely means exactly that, the clue is in the 'right to free speech' bit. I pray I never live in a world where people can be taken to court for humour.
