What the actual fuck. -How-. Why?! Just... What!?!

I honestly don't understand how this can happen! At the very least, shouldn't one Kaiju biting another cause the other to be enraged? Shouldn't Nintendo having content from one of their games be used for profit (by Fox) be cause for them to do something? Even if the Youtube Video wasn't from one of their accounts, it was still one of their products...

I just honestly don't understand!

Very easy - the video is used in the show, which means that after the show has aired, the video is content IDed as being from the show, so it gets an automated copyright claim.

Automatic content ID has been a problem for a very long time now, Jim Sterling, in particular, had a section in his recent videos on that, as well. They are just blindly slapped onto anything that very vaguely appears to be "stolen" content...even if it's trailer footage that is absolutely free to the public to have in their own videos. Or even if it's something that falls under Fair Use. Even if it's few seconds of footage, too.

Three Kaiju.

Double Dribble was made by Konami.

I think these things such as automated takedowns should be replaced by a system that sends a group of people a warning of light, medium and heavy flags, then the humans decide what to do with the video, DMCA it or decide it's harmless. Because takedowns are getting out of control.

... Family Guy is still a thing? Fuck. Wow.

Well, everyone knows contentID is fucked. Youtube have been making noises about possibly fixing it, but I don't know what they're actually going to end up doing. I think it's at the point where it's pissing enough people off that they're actually gonna at least try to fix it.

You don't go after the people who have enough money to defend themselves, silly! You just 'make an example' of the little guys who are solidly within fair use.

Yeah, this is why Youtube really needs to make fixing their copyright claiming system a priority. Many of the people who make Youtube what it is are subject to this nonsense. And what would Youtube be without the content creators? Not like there is really a competitor, but if one did exist and had a competent copyright system, that would really hurt them.

And this is why every copyright claim needs to be handled by a real person, not bots.

At least it got sorted. That's a lot more than can be said for a lot of these BS autclaims.

I dunno. I, for one, was tired of my comedy shows being funny.

What I don't get at this point is a) why there isn't a viable alternative to Youtube yet and b) why people aren't trolling the corporations the same way they are everyone else? Why aren't we copyright striking Nintendo and content IDing their videos?
