fallout 3

you expect to fight with the colone in a brutal, long lasting fight to the death, you aim at him in V.A.T.S. and you see... that he goes down with 2 headshots, great bethesda, just a stupid ending to one of the best games evaRR
Then don't use VATS. And understand that the new DLC is going to remove the ending.
then its just 2 normal headshots, boo fucking hoo
If you're a character that uses guns. Either way, the game was obviously designed to have an alternate ending from the one that you experience considering that the DLC has stated that it's removing the 'ending' to the packaged game, and adding hours on top of that.
I'm going to feel like a hypocrite saying this, especially since I was championing DLC in a thread a little while ago, but that's bullshit.

Adding a new mission or two, or a new island with its own mini-story, or new gizmos and gadgets to make the game fun to play through again, that's all fair play for DLC.

Removing the cannon ending and adding a whole bunch of extra stuff just stinks of unfinished game that you paid full price for. I'm hoping I'm misunderstanding you though, because normally Bethesda understands how expansions should work.

CoD on Veteran difficulty... While I still did the majority of CoD4 and W@W, the AI is trained to spam more grenades than have been used since WWI... And they're all thrown at me.

Fucking ridiculous.

I'd say FarCry 1. One shot to the doc's head and he goes down.

Somewhat relieved by the rather hard fight before him, though.

Halo 3 made me yell "Fucking bored now..." at the single player campaign, as well as "Fuck off".
Yep, after all the hype, I though it'd at least be ok, turns out it was not.

everyones talking about bad endings but did anyone find the first time you go into the village in resi 4 really annoying. I must have played for a 4 or 5 hours before i went online and found out u didnt have to kill the chainsaw motherf*cker and u just had to hide in a little room for x amount of time. I was really pissed off that it gave u no indication of what to do and it put me off the resi games for a year or so

The ending of S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Clear sky. If you have finished it you know what I'm talking about. How could the make such a annoying cliff hanger ending. God damn it! It was so unexpected and was like Yahtzee's opinion about Cod 4 ending.

I don't recall ever getting exceedingly pissed with a game.. but there are just some battles in general that piss me the hell off-- any boss battle that you have to use "strategy" to kill.

I say "strategy" because I don't mean tactics. I mean you have to use some convoluted, game designer unique, flash reflex or perfect timing moves to kill. The "You HAVE to kill this guy this way" method, if you will.

Oh.. and a couple final fantasy games, leaving out the numbers for fear of burning at the stake, that just monster pop-up the WHOLE time I'm trying to solve one of the area puzzles. Puzzle solving broken up by annoying ass 1 hit kill combat is RIDICULOUS.

Bwah? I was just stating that guns were the simplest method. I'm not going to sit here and pretend however, that it was all THAT hard.

EDIT: Oh, and I hardly see the ending of the game being the proper canon ending... hence the DLC.,
I remember thinking that about Oblivion too, but the ending remained the ending. They just added new crap.

That and you only meet Col. Autumn once previously. That and there's no real reason why you couldn't have survived the radiation except plot device. The "development" with Autumn and your Dad just happened out of the blue. Felt shoddy in what was a good game.
seriously, i had fawkes with me at the time, he was in the chamber after the door had been closed. All he had to do was walk maybe three feet and punch in a number, but nooooo, every man has his destiny. What if mine wasn't to die while staring at george washingtons ugly mug.

The GTA series is infamous for it's annoying trial and error gameplay. Being forced to replay a hard mission five six times before getting it right I can deal with... but why is there no retry mission option? Why am I forced to, after each failed attempt go all around the state gathering equipment then drive back to the mission origin? It's so annoying, even worse when the missions take you all over the map.

And then when you finally beat the mission, it's often just luck. You hardly ever try a new strategy, you just do the same as before, only suddenly you get lucky when the enemy fire misses you or if all others in the race crash.

Hmmm...Half Life 2, I had no idea what was going on half of the time, the driving controls sucked (and royaly at that, the fact that you can't progress unless you sit down and watch what is essentially an unskippable cutscene and the fact that there was an unessercary amount of flattery towards the gravity gun (why use a shotty or plasma rifle when you can hurl tin cans and flimsy wooden boxes at people?) all of this makes me wonder why the hell so many people like this game and it's follow-ons?

FEAR, I went through 10 missions and I was yet to see a single supernatural enemy, there were robots and evil clone troopers (wait a minute, that sounds a lot like the strom troopers from Star Wars) with thunder guns but no ghosts or hideously deformed beings to be seen. That and it was repetitive and boring.

Fallout 3, I dislike this game for being an shamelessly identical clone to Oblivion (well, okay, you get guns that have to constantly have to be repaired, rubble and the logically unsound fixation on the 1950's), leaving pretty much everything up to statistics (most of the time you can rely on the computer to save your ass even if you happen to be the FPS equivilent of a red shirt) and having one of the the most 'fuck off' worthy endings I have ever seen in a game (I don't care if it's being removed with DLC, it shouldn't be there in the first place).

Somewhere around the time Final Fantasy VIII told me to insert Disc 3 I realized "I've been waiting for this game to get good, and it ain't gonna." I soldiered on anyway and sure enough, the game earned its place in my all-time Bottom 25.
