Said enemy was my very first imp and I had yet to learn steel weapons can't harm them.
So I panic and run back to town with the imp chasing me. The town guards attack the imp.
After a while I gather that, while they're tough enough withstand the imp's claws, they are also wielding *steel* weapons.
So I go shopping, come back in a minute with some fire-shooting gewgaw and kill the imp in 2 hits. Then the guards attack me. "Hey, I DID kill it eventually-" *dies*
Apparently luring even smallest demonic critters inside town borders is frowned upon.
