Simply put, post theories of video games/movies/books/whatever that you (like to) think are true, and why you think that.
Well, I watched The Dark Knight Rises a couple of days ago, and unless a sequel contradicts me, I will keep believing that
Bruce really died in the explosion and Alfred seeing Bruce in Florence is just a hallucination, because Bruce faking his own death and moving to Florence just seems out of character.
Also, inb4 Indoctrination Theory.

I've got a mess of them for My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but I don't feel like sharing at the moment.

Outside of that particular fandom, I have suprisingly few. The most dominant theory I hold to is that Gordon Freeman is exactly how Ross Scott's machinima series Mind [http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=ELkznu7Gec_hU] portrays him.

The Retelling Theory for The Legend of Zelda. it just doesn't make sense for the series to have any kind of actual plotline, and since all of the games are so similar (get boomerang, obtain Triforce), it's safe to assume that each adventure is a mere variation of the original one. Stuff like Vaati, Gorons, and the concept of the Triforce all got tacked on later.

The Great Pokemon War Theory. LT. Surge's existance proves that there was a war. Also, that America exists.

If Bruce Wayne had auto-pilot functioning for 6-months prior to the explosion; I find it hard to understand why he would intentionally forgo it in favor of a more hands on approach (That ends with a fusion bomb up the ass).

Why does Bruce faking his own death seem out of character?

In the beginning we see he is a recluse and has no interest in the outside world. That's only one step down the ladder from fake death.

Plus; I can give you one absolute reason why he's not dead.

He's the BATMAN.

Also; sequels.
Well, when I saw the
autopilot scene, I just thought that Bruce really wanted to die. He just really seemed like a death seeker, especially with that "Not everything" line.
Okay, maybe it didn't seem out of character, that was a poor choice of words on my part, it just felt... Cheap might be the word I'm looking for.
I'm pretty sure there won't be a sequel to DKR, though I'd actually want one where
Blake is the new Batman, but that probably won't happen even if there is a sequel.

Am I the first one to say the Indoctrination Theory for Mass Effect 3?

Edit: It appears I am...

The main reason why I think the point where Shepard gets blasted by Harbinger onward did not happen:

Mass Effect 4. Come on, we're talking about a multi-million selling franchise published by EA here, no way are they ending it with just a trilogy.

"Pure coincidence"? My ass.

The theory of Jon's true parentage in the A Song of Ice and Fire series.

The theory that Rhaegar had a child with Lyanna when he abducted/took her along with him and then when Ned found Lyanna, he discovered her dying from childbirth and taking the child (Jon) back home with him, pretending that he was his bastard to keep him from danger.

If you want more information on this theory, go to http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Jon_Snow/Theories [this page]. There are just way too many things pointing to it for it to not be true at this point I think.

Sorry, no. That glory is owned by me, because I predicted with my brilliant psychic powers that it would be mentioned at some point.

I was talking about the first one to say they believe in it, not the first one to mention it.

Yeah.

James Bond is not a single person, but a codename for agent 007, and all the different incarnations of Bond were different people doing the same job.

Also the Star Wars prequels were just tales made up by the Ewoks to try and justify who these strange people were invading their world.

Yeah.
What if I also believe in it, but I decided not to expand upon it because everyone already knows about it?
I despise my vile trickery myself, for it is so vile.

The only one I can think of is that James Bond is a codename for the specific role played by each actor and not their actual names.

Aaaaaand it appears that this has already been taken, so I gots nothing.

In Warhammer 40K, the blessings and holy oils applied to Weapons and technology in ceremonies are actually just regular maintenance that has become sacred over time. So field stripping a lasgun or oiling the barrel of a bolter is considered a holy act, rather than actual blessings and psychic powers doing the work.

Let's see...

That Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was, in fact, only the size of the Earth-Moon System, and that Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann was the size of the Solar System, and that those "Galaxies" were simply constructs created by the Anti-Spirals in that pocket universe for the purpose of the final battle.

That Slowpoke is, in fact, near-omniscient, and its mind is unable to process of of this information, and, thus, it is very slow to react. Slowking is, in fact, retarded by Slowpoke standards as a result of the Shellder's venom, though, while it has a lessened awareness of the universe at large, it has a heightened awareness of its immediate surroundings in comparison to its evolutionary relatives.

That, in the Pokemon Games, the Gym Leaders do not use their personal teams in gym battles where the challenger would recieve a badge in the event that they win. Rather, they use a regulation team with a range of levels based on the number of badges that the challenger has. However, for other battles, such as rematches, they will use their personal team. The Elite Four may use their personal teams, though they will typically use more powerful Pokemon against trainers that have completed the league challenge before.

That, in the Pokemon Games, the term "Champion" can refer to one of two people: The first is the acting leader of the Pokemon League, who serves as a final challenge for those taking the League Challenge. The second is the most recent trainer to beat the acting Champion, and is pretty much the equivalent of being at the top of a leaderboard.

And the above James Bond is a code name thing, which I believe was semi-confirmed by the director of one of the more recent Bond films.

I believe the fan theories around Myst that about half the canon needs to be completely retconned.

It's the only way for Myst and Myst IV to exist in the same universe, no matter how much The Book of Atrus tries to subtly explain the inconsistency away (so what, the brothers kept journals of their imprisonment, but didn't mention however long they were left hanging in black nothingness!?).

Also, the idea that Myst Online "is only a game", while a bit disheartening, is a much better theory than however they try to explain instancing (I've gone to great lengths on it in the past, all you need to know is that the original theory more or less proves that there is a God and he has a sick sense of humor).

I've read this one before and highly agree, although I wouldn't be too surprised if G.R.R.M pulls a fast one on us and has it be something else, although making it something else would almost seem a dues ex machina type situation.

I read a theory before that Chewbacca was a rebel agent from the beginning, just kind of matched with stuff from the movies.

It's not that I disbelieve the
R+L
stuff... (I actually believe it's quite possible)

What I don't get is why anyone would think that would really matter? Going all spoiler tag here
So, he's Rhaegar's bastard instead of Ned's. No, he would not be in any way a "legitimate" Targaryen heir. Yes, the Targaryens of old had multiple wives. But they were all their own sisters, so no one really cared. But no "marriage" between Lyanna and Rhaegar would be agreed upon by either Winterfell or Dorne, and when over half the kingdom would not recognize the marriage... it's not a marriage.

And besides, what do people think will happen? Jon will find out about his heritage and reclaim his throne... never happen. He is a man of the Night's Watch. He took an oath to (among other things) wear no crown, own no land, take no wife and father no children... all things a king is generally expected to do. So he reclaims his name, and throne... and is executed for oathbreaking, The end? Lousy story so I doubt it will happen that way.
Again, I don't think the theory is wrong or impossible... I just don't see what possible use confirming the theory as truth would serve as it would really change nothing about Jon's status or current situation.
