Let me tell you

About Homestuck
I dont understand why you should be ashamed. Homestuck is a beautiful thing.
It is beautiful, hilarious, tragic and random in the best ways possible.

But have you ever tried to EXPLAIN homestuck to someone? It gets rather emberassing :p That and the shipping. Dear god, the shipping.

Yes.... it took a long time. You really cant explain it all. Just outline book one a little... god it gets complicated just explaining that. I just tell them that the first 100 pages are little dull until it explodes into complex plot and drama. Ive never had someone else read it. Forever alone fandom.

I like the shipping a little (i dont personally do it) but the troll romance quadrent is really interesting. Real life has all 4 sections except the kisnemsis. Which is an interesting thing really.

I don't partake in fandom. Also the Mass Effect 3 ending isn't art. It's a plot hole filled, character breaking and it cheapens the entirety of the other three games. The hole thing should be scrubbed from the game and a entirely new ending DLC to fix it. They patched the FO3 ending and it was fine so why not Mass Effect.

None, because what they do has nothing to do with me. What other fans do has absolutely no bearing on me or my pride.

I am not ashamed of any fanbase I am a part of. Then again I usually ignore most parts of every fanbase so that is probably at least partially why.

Nope, I have no shame. It's kind of an odd question, honestly.

I mean, yeah, sure, being a geek in a program that's largely dominated by classic literature can be a little daunting, but it's all just a matter of accepting that people will have a stick up their ass, sometimes, and that it isn't your job to pull it out.

In fact, I'm kinda sad when I hear some guy who's my age in my promotion wax about Umberto Eco. He doesn't seem to have movies or TV shows of note, and the best game he can think of is Tetris. Poor dude. I mention that the medium's progressed well beyond saving princesses in castles occupied by scheming saurians, and he just stares at me.

I described the plot of Deus Ex: Human Revolution to him, and he asked me if I was sure I wasn't describing a book.

Nope. Nope, I'm not. One of the Best Games Ever, thematically. Everyone should play it, if only for the way it tackles its own subject matter.

So, no. I don't carry any shame to speak of.

Take those 100 pages, then add another digit. It's a really slow start :p Like, 3000+ pages and a shit ton of banter before they're all in the medium.

And yeah, the quadrants are interesting. Real life argueably has kismesis as well, if you're into that sort a thing I guess.....

Sonic. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand rant:
First off the people who call themselves "old school" fans like you're not allowed to be a fan if you only ever played anything past SA1, but will constantly hate the new stuff after watching 4 seconds of footage and refuse to play then do it anyway (dont hate all old school fans, just the ones stuck in the past), people who will never give any kind of a chance to Sonic even though the biased fuckers at IGN even said they liked colours (watch their unleashed review to see how biased they were, they guy intentionally dies about 8 times), the ones who think Sonic shouldn't be so "kiddy" even though its quite clearly and obviously aimed at children, and if you feel any less of a man/woman for playing it then your just insecure, the pervs, and people who always want Sonic to be 2D and never ever ever want anything new. And even when it is all 2D they complain still about nothing, they just don't want Sonic to evolve, just like megaman.
Nothing against reasonable Megaman or Sonic fans it just gets really, really ridiculous somtimes.

DOTA genre games. I love DOTA 2, and I really like Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends too. DOTA 2 is my preference, but I still like all three, but HOLY FUCK BATMAN, the community is so terrible. I try my absolute best to not flame and to encourage teamwork and all that, but I fall into the "FFFFFFFF CAN YOU SHUT UP SOMETIME ALREADY, YOU ARE EQUALLY SHIT" kind of trap every once in a while too. And I'm ashamed every single time I do it.
Get a grip, community! Only you can make it better.

The internet has taught me that there are always people who like something I like and odds are, at least one of them is a less than likeable person. I'm embarrassed by them on occasion, but I'm not ashamed of my likes in particular.
Amen.

Well I'm a Boys Love fangirl. I'm not so much ashamed of it as I don't really mention it that often simply because I don't want to deal with the flack that a person can get for it.

Yes, I know it's unrealistic, I don't use BL to teach me anything about real, human gay men, I just want a romance that doesn't involve looking at boobs. Is that so much to ask for?
Isn't Boys Love (Yaoi) aimed at girls in the first place? I'm pretty sure there's an offshoot designed for gay men, but I'm not sure.
I wouldn't say it's aimed at girls, more aimed at women (I know I'm being a bit of a word nazi here, but that slightly irked me), but yes, boys love is usually made by women for women. Your point may I ask?
I was just curious. Why? did you think I was going to start antagonizing you?
Oh no, I figure if you were going to be antagonistic you would have done it from the start, not ask a polite question first. I just thought you might be wanting to make some sort of point that I wasn't getting.

League of Legends I guess If I had to name a name. Most people on there seem to be 13 year olds with anger problems.

Tampa Bay Rays fans, somewhat. Where do I even get started...

I LOVE the Rays, but I'll admit we have extremely fickle fans. Stadium attendance is often close to last in the Major Leagues, even though recent surveys showed that the Rays are the most popular team in town.
Home games against teams like the Yankees or Red Sox feel like neutral site games, and the only "home field advantage" comes from the massive catwalks hanging above the field, which get hit by fly balls far more often than they should.
We have the city of Tampa battling for a chance to build a new stadium while St Pete waves the current stadium lease in the faces of the Rays and all of their fans.
The fact that we've made the postseason 3 of the last 4 years in the toughest division in baseball, including a trip to the World Series, and still struggle to sell out games.
There are so many transplants that everyone roots for their hometown teams, not the team in the town of their home.

I know 90% of you have no interest in sports, and especially not baseball. Forgive me. haha
I haven't had much time to get worked up about gaming lately.
