Fanboy Arguments you've Heard

When I sad the CoD serial is a pile of garbage, a lot of fanboys just told me I was wrong and that CoD games are, infact, the best games ever.

My Pet hate is compareing consoles due to the games and content thats on them. I own all consoles and all have their strong and weak points but. My own Fanboyism is going to show in this one.

FPS suck bollox on anything but a PC.

"I got MW2" "for?" "Xbox wanna play?"

Any reasoning to why X is better than Y because it has Z game or franchise is a hopeless arguement. Moreoever useing the arguement on company history. some people have it in for Microsoft, others have it in for Sony. And Nintendos just been around too long.

Most Fanboys need a cup of wake the hell up and see the Bigger Picture.

Also PC Gaming is the best (In my opinion)

i only really hate it when people claim this and that is the best while knowing nothing about alternatives and even dismissing them in advance. not everybody that plays videogames is that informed like we may be here. i´m sure that a high percentage of mw2 or halo fanboys are not even aware of other games that are not that often displayed in the public because they focus so much on their one game. the more time you spend with a game, the more you feel naturally insulted if someone hates that game, because it means you´d have wasted your time and effort on something completely trivial. the dilemma is, in the end, videogames are trivial most of the time and even finishing them is not a real accomplishment but for your self.

so in conclusion, i´d say fanboys, you may be blessed for not looking left and right of your screen and for dedicating so much energy in maintaining and expanding game universes, but also: stop crying if someone doesn´t like "your" game. it should be completely irrelevant to you. if the next man comes up with rogue warrior and for some reason, likes it, who am i to judge? i imagine the game is fucking terrible. but for someone who´s unfamiliar with that sort of game and who has no comparison at hand it might even be decent.

on the contrary, i bought mass effect a while ago, but i don´t get hooked. it bores the shit out of me. i´m still at the citadel. i can recognize the great game that it may be. it just doesn´t touch me a bit. playing it feels like work. but i don´t say it´s a shitty game because of that. i actually like rpgs, but it just doesn´t appeal to me, and i don´t even know why. but i don´t run around now telling people to stop playing it.

That's your opinion, and comes across as rather fanboy-ish. Both games are vastly overhyped, though.

I don't use the term pop-punk since it really doesn't make any sense. I use "Bubblegum Punk" to describe it: "Fallout Boy, Blink 182, Avril Lavigne, etc..." They are more interested in LOOKING punk (mall punk) than actually BEING punk (you know, punk, like Sex Pistols, Ramones, Black Flag, NOFX, etc...)

Bubblegum Punk is IMO a steaming turd, but if the kids like it these days, they're more than welcome.

That is one of the most retarded things I've ever seen. The amount of guns doesn't make a bloody game better, it's the gameplay. I'm a hardcore TS fanboy and even I can't justify such a moronic argument. I hope you smacked this person upside the head for being an idiot.

The arguments I hate most are comparison/versus threads. Gaia Online is irreversibly polluted with such nonsense.

Ah the good old "Mah consol iz better den PC cuz it has super good grafix" argument. Now I prefer PC to consoles though I do play both (mostly due to the fact PC has mouse and keyboard for FPS's which is superior to a handheld controller) after doing a bit of E-detective work I found that the 360's graphics card is equal to a GeForce 7800 and the PS3 is roughly the same (maybe slightly better but who cares) and my PC runs a GeForce 8400 and from what I hear bigger numbers mean better graphics card soooooo my PC has better graphics then current gen consoles (YAY Oblivion on Ultra High resolution)

A GeForce 8400 can't play Oblivion on an Ultra High resolution, unless it's got the lowest graphics settings possible, and still then I doubt you would get a decent framerate. me: I agree it is more precise, and yea better graphics too. But i like prefer the
controller to keyboard/mouse. I like the consoles better, i've tried PC gaming and i didn't like it. It's all about what I want.

Truth is I don't really care much about Mass Effect. It's cool, but I don't have the time to indulge myself in it. I confess I want to play it to its fullest and I've still only completed the first mission and I'm stuck in the hub talking to anyone. I just borrowed it twice off friends around exam season and didn't get far with it.

I've played MW2... I didn't see the reason for the hype. Same with Halo. But I'm not big of FPS games. And since I don't own the latter two, I've not really indulged in the multiplayer. I loved Dead Space, RE5 and GoW 1 + 2... I just don't really see what the problem is!

I like some games. I don't adore others. How does that reflect on my ability to enjoying playing the 360? Idiots.

A £400 PC will last just as long as a console's whole lifespan (ranging from 4-7 years), assuming you're fine with not upgrading components, and thus getting the same graphical quality that a console produces. (Medium settings in other words)

Cheaper games, competitively priced peripherals, loads of free mods, free dlc... yeah PC gaming is so expensive...

Sorry didn't mean to sound like a PC fanboy, but the argument I just pointed out is one that irritates me.

There were FPS games before Halo... tonnes of them. There were also tonnes of hack n slash games before God of War. Just because you're too young to remember those games (you know who you are), doesn't mean they didn't exist.
