Classicists who deny that Achilles and Patroclus were bum buddies.

I mean, come ON.

also, I don't think anyone is going to care about this.

I'm not a huge fan of Call of Duty, but I think it's an okay shooter for what it is, and I'm sure I don't need to explain what THAT fanbase is like.

And I can't lie about it: Bronies.
Some of us can get WAY too into it sometimes.

Warhammer 40k. The people who ignore the best rule of all: "The rule of cool"

What, so there weren't any guardsmen of that regiment/company fighting in the 3rd Armageddon war? Please tell me why I should really care.

Oh, so you want me to replace all my power axes with power swords? (I clarify that I want to use them as swords before the game)How about no, I put a lot of effort into those miniatures, why should I change it, when an explanation is so much easier.

Also, Final fantasy. I enjoy the games. I have every even numbered game from 4 onwards. I don't, however, enjoy seeing fan"art" of tidus and yuna, celes and locke etc etc. It isn't needed.

I tried jumping in with the Halo fans on Bungie.net, but that was something I'm not eager to repeat. Little more than a slovenly bickering mess of gamers they are. I'm still hesitantly a fan of the Halo universe, but I keep myself distanced from the group.

Oh, and don't even get me started on Homestuck. Hussie's pretty amazing for some guy who just decided to make an oddball story-turned-universe and get it rolling in the quirky direction sans any functional brakes. But the fandom that got rolled up in the runaway loony katamari? They've got the good, the bad and the ugly. What they don't have is any apparent measure of temperance. Wade a short distance in any given direction, and it can get pretty extreme, pretty quickly. Which is why I decided to skirt around the fandom, looking in from the borders.

There are a lot of fandom of the series I love that I absolutely hate. However, my most recently hated fandom would have to be the Mass Effect fandom. The forums are filled with negative comments about the smallest details about the game, the fans will go crazy if you prefer one character over the other, only care about the shipping and who has it the worst, and overall have an entitlement complex. Hell, I am considering selling my three games so that way I no longer have to deal with the fandom anymore, something I have never considered on games before, even the Sonic, Final Fantasy, and Kingdom Hearts series who are notorious for fandom behavior wise I mostly set aside.

The Velvet Underground fanbase. While it's not the worst by any means, this has to be one of the most obnoxiously self-righteous bunch of fans I have ever seen.

Mass Effect has sweat odour theorising Talimancers.

Ok this has been bugging me for awhile. I am very much a Tali fan, but that word gets thrown around so much in my general direction that I'm a little worried that I might be one of them. Is there a test I can take or something? I only ask because I want to know if my fellow Escapists consider me to be a freak...something that's been bothering me for some time now to be honest.
