Far Cry 3 and Uplay, is Uplay bad enough to avoid a sale on it?

I've never had any issues with Uplay but I find it to be completely pointless. I got a free copy of Far Cry 3 that I had to buy and download via Uplay. It all worked fine as does logging in to play the game. If it wasn't for the AC games I certainly wouldn't bother it.

I honestly don't see the problem people have with Uplay beyond it being yet another thing to install. It was largely unobtrusive, let me play my game just fine, and its interface isn't half bad. It's not as great as Steam, but it isn't as atrocious as Origin or GFWL are.
