HAHA! That must have looked like the strangest hen party ever to on lookers who had no idea what was going on. This could only have been more awesome if the protester stuck mash potatoes in the nationalist's faces[footnote]cookie for reference[/footnote].

So the extremists saw a group of young women cosplaying as badgers and led by Brian May run towards them and their reaction was to run away?

I'd just stick around to see what would happen, because stuff like that usually only happens in dreams.
Wondering the same thing myself. I took one look at the picture in the article and I suddenly had very strong opinions on badger culling :p

I dont think I understand at all. Badgers???
There are controversial trial Badger culls that have recently started, farmers are accusing them of spreading diseases and infecting their livestock. Badgers where a protected species but the Government planned and started the trials to see if it limits the spread of disease, protests coincided with the ongoing EDL/BNP Vs Anti fascist protests in London that where sparked by the killing of that British solider on leave.

Well that's fucking awesome. On so many levels. On the topic of the badger cull, apparently Brian Blessed and Mr. Weebl oppose it too:

EDIT: And apparently it was Brian May on the guitar for that song. So that's awesome too.

I vote we get Brian Blessed to lead the next anti-fascist charge, because that maks sense.

You know, as funny as this is, I think they need to have more band members lead more protests and actually get something resolved. When you look at the turn out and enthusiasm for concerts, they could actually amass insane protests storming the streets. LOL!

I think May is on to something here.

OK, let us role-play here.

Group of Far-Left 'Extremists' chased by group of people dressed as Koala.

Is that still alright with you? See my opinion is that, while this is funny, the "Far-Right" protestors were still being chased and prohibited from their right too free speech. I know for a fact that if this was "Far-Left" there would be people crying foul demanding arrests because of denial of rights.

You and I my disagree with the protesters, but they still have the right to protest.

Wut?

So... why exactly were they were running away from woman dressed as badgers?

Please tell me someone filmed that.
Because retaliating to an assault in britain is more likely to get you jail time than actually assaulting anyone. Especially if you're male and they're female.
Exactly what is wrong with Britain. No rights if you are obeying the law, but we must protect the robber from the people they are robbing.

So, was that scene in The Blues Brothers where Jake and Elwood run those Nazis off a bridge a bad thing?

I'm glad you find this all amusing. However this is a serious double standard on the part of the 'anti fascist' (and I see great irony in the term).

The article given notes that a candidate was physically beaten (among others) and a protester has put up a message on twitter. Hell lets actally bring up a video of the event.

I think you people need a reality check here. Is this seriously appropriate behavior? People rave on about 'free speech" but the moment a group we disagree with speaks up we use physical violence against them? Can't we be adult enough just to ignore them like decent human beings? Oh and btw you forgot to mention 58 members of the UAF were arrested on that day.
So you are blaming the Badger protesters for the actions of the anti facist protestors? That video was not of the badger protesters, there were other protesters there as well you know. No one in that video was holding a badger sign, or wearing badger attire. This thread was about the badger protesters, not the other protesters.

EDIT: These are obviously NOT the same group pictured in the video:

I have not seen that movie. I hate Nazis, but everyone has a right to free speech. IF (note, really big IF) the bastards were only talking (protesting, having a bake sale, ect) then yes Jake and Elwood would be wrong. BUT IF the Nazis were actively trying to break the law, then it would be self-defense.

That is the difference, the 'Far-Right' were simply protesting. They were prevented from protesting. Their rights were violated by the "Far-Left" extremists.

A couple years ago in the US, a "Gay Rights" organization invaded a Church and prevented Church services. The Church took the Gay Right group to court and won the lawsuit because the Church has the right to be free of harassment for their religious beliefs.

It does not matter if someone is right or wrong. They still have the right to speak freely without threat of harassment or assault.

Thank you for that. Many people here are worse then the 'fascists'.

They think "Free-Speech only for my point of view". They are the real Fascists.

PS: Someone was murdered. Let us think about the coming war that will come if freedom of speech is not restored. I do weep for the future, they will live in a World at War.

No; I'm pointing out that people seem to celebrate the use of violence against groups that we disagree with. The article posted clearly suggests that some badger protesters participated in this violence (despite the BNP and the EDL having no stated opinion on the cull) and as such I associate them with the hypocritically fascist agenda of the UAF and its sister organizations.
I didn't see where it stated the badger protesters were involved with the violence. "Chasing them down the street" does not indicate violence. I was once chased by a guy in a bee costume, but not because he was violent, but because I didn't want him near me. There is a difference.
Now see as scary as this is:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuSaxM315uI
They aren't being violent towards him. LOL

I guess from now on I'm just going to assume your illiterate.

"Smash the cull! Smash the BNP"
Yes no suggestions there.
There is a difference between chanting and doing. I do agree that saying "smash anything" is a bit harsh.
However, your reference to illiteracy is uncalled for.
