Have any of you guys seen this really, really funny Irish show that got broadcast on the BBC called Father Ted?

It's about these three Catholic Priests, Father Ted, Doogle, and Father Jack (Father Jack doesn't say much except "DRINK!" and "FECKARSE!", but it's hilarious). They live in this isolated parish and in the first season of it they were having to deal with an Archbishop who was rumored to have had a child AFTER his vows of celibacy... won't spoil how that episode turns out, heh.

Anyway, have any of you guys seen this really great Irish show/BBC program? I don't want to feel like the only one!

BBC show? It was aired on Channel 4! Admittedly it is one of the only decent things to come from the channel. Funny show, but repeats the same gags a bit too much, although thankfully it never became a catchphrase comedy.

As an Irish person, I really enjoyed this. It made me ?Lol? at how some of us Irish are. I bought the box set of Father Ted two Christmases ago. It was great, with all my favourite episodes of the ?Priests?

One thing that upset me slightly is that it was set in England. The isolated island was just a place near some county in Munster. Everything else was set in England.

Another thing that upset me was the death of the actor who played Ted. There has been no signs of life from the actor who played Father Jack. At least the man who played Doogle is still out there, making a name for himself.

It has its moments! I think its great because the only made like 3 seasons, if they had made more it would have gotten extremely repetitive.

To call it amazing is a tad bit over the top i think, but its enjoyable :p

The Eurovision Song Contest episode is hilarious. "My Lovley Horse" dream cracks me up every time!! That and when Ted loses it and tells Dugal "JUST PLAY THE F&%*KING NOTE!!!"

It wasn't set in England. In fact they mention not getting the English papers in one episode. And they go to the Ailwee caves in Co. Clare in another.
However I'm Irish too and have the box said and so I have to announce rather loudly to the world: FTW! FATHER TED! FTW!
