You know, when I was 10 there were 150 pokemon and we were all fine with it. Now they come out with these insane numbers of pokemon, and even what sound like "mythology" (Arceus, civilizations, etc.). Honestly I don't understand why people went and ruined pokemon. The whole original point of the game was catch animals, have them fight each other, and tell yourself you're not Michael Vick because the pokemon have special powers and when they run out of HP they just faint (which makes roughly less than zero sense). It didn't need a plot, 500 new pokemon, or even good graphics. But all you whiny little brats say "waaaah, give me more!" and it ruins the game. Now excuse, me, I'm off to grab my cane so I can go yell at some more of the youngin's

I don't care for new games. Too many Pokemons to remember... Not worth the effort. I have troubles remembering what the 152-250 Pokemons did, attacks and so in Pokemon Silver...

Bibarel, because he's the perfect slave-pokémon (by that I mean: He knows a lot of HMs).

I have to say Lucario and Gible. Actually, the whole evolution line from Gible was awesome.

I didn't like the 4th gen pokemon all that much. I thought that a few of them were good but you could tell that the developers were running out of ideas for most of them. I did like the actual game however. It added alot to pokemon that made it better.

4[sup]th[/sup] gen would be FireRed and LeafGreen would it not? The latest would be 5[sup]th[/sup] gen.
I'm not sure it goes that way. People usually refer to D/P as 4th gen games so I thought that the new Pokemon would be called the 4th generation.

Yeah that's the only thing it's good for. I hate it when you have to use an HM slave though because it messes up my team setup.

That's not the only reason I like him though. Another reason is that you can sing the "Sephiroth song", but instead of Sephiroth, you go "Bibarel"... Awesome!

Infernape. The combination of strong fire and fighting attacks kills pretty much everything.

Jason Statham.

...oh wait, you said POKEMON? Sorry, my mistake.

I'd say Yanmega. Half Helicopter, half Dragonfly, all badass.

Why thank you good sir, but I do believe that people have not recognized my victory, so now I'm actually going to have to yell at more youngin's. Excuse me /ZZ-Tops grabs cane.

Pokemon is dead. Red, blue, and maybe yellow were good. Gold and silver were average (and that's a stretch), but remember that if you play a game with the slogan "catch 'em all", having more than roughly 250 different pokemon to catch leads to an impossible game. Further, most (99%) of the new pokemon are absurdly weird. I mean, if they don't look weird, they have weird powers (usually both), and then most of them are weird evolutions of old pokemon. Really, having five different evolutions for magikarp is stupid since magikarp was a joke. And don't correct me on accuracy, I don't actually know whether magikarp has five evolutions, I'm just making a point. correct you and I'll beat ou with my cane.

Yeah but this wasn't the point of the thread. I mostly agree with what you said, so I thought it might be fun to pick out the best of the worst.

Pokemon has gone downhill though. They gave Magmar an evolution. A really lame one to.

Point of thread: ask people what their favorite new pokemon is. My response answers the question by saying "none of them are good, none of you should think any of them are good, now go play Pokemon red before I start going senile in my college dorm room."

I'll go with... Giratina. But since legendaries are overdone, I'll say... either Leafeon or Torterra. I think Torterra was the best starter type of this generation and Leafeon is my favorite eevolution.

Why does everyone have this opinion? What was wrong with the newer generations? Normally when a game stagnates and doesn't add anything, people complain about it. But in Pokemon it's the opposite. I guess it's the same reason people didn't like Star Trek: Next Generation; they didn't like their favorite characters...
Plus, just about everyone thinks that the 2nd generation was the best because it added so much to the francise.
