One of Rugrats's greatest strengths was its willingness to show different cultures. How many shows, let alone a CHILDREN'S CARTOON, can brag that they've had specials for Christmas, Hanukkah, Passover, AND Kwanzaa? And it's not just in the holiday specials, either. There was one episode where Tommy and Chuckie go to a wedding, and search for cake. In that episode, one scene shows a Zen wedding, or a Buddhist wedding, I'm not sure. Another episode shows Chuckie and Phil running through some kind of festival, and we see many different cultures there, including a sumo wrestling match.

Hey Arnold!, when I think back to it. I wasn't particularly fond of it then, but I realize just how good it was when I remember some of the episodes. The movie was pretty kickass, even when I didn't really like the show. Things like the sad bus driver who tells Arnold that he only has one leg, having lost it in service, and that his girlfriend broke up with him because of it, then the bus driver at the end joins their side because his ex-girlfriend's house was in the line of destruction -- I still remember how touching it was.

Ren & Stimpy as well for incredibly stupid, funny reasons.

The adventures of Pete and Pete. Surreal as hell and it always had the weirdest damn guest stars playing either parents or random school staff. Hello Steve Buscemi and Iggy Pop as loving parents of teenage children.

Are you Afraid of the Dark is one I remember the most.

All That and a laundry list of Cartoons would follow. The list would be shorter if I mentioned the ones I didn't like.

I didn't get Nick as I'm Canadian, but our YTV showed most of the shows.

I loved Hey Arnold and Doug and Are You Afraid of the Dark. I watched Rugrats and Wild Thornberries, but didn't love them. Never liked Angry Beavers or Ren and Stimpy.

In no particular order: Invader Zim, Angry Beavers, Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, KaBlam, and like half of the game shows they had on there for a while.

Legends of the Hidden Temple was baller, pure and simple. I wish I had Olmec's voice on a soundboard for all my online multiplayer needs. Anytime some 12 year old called me a pussy, just a huge, echoing "INCORRECT."
That would be fucking epic. Olmec was probably one of my favorite parts about that show.

I miss 90's Nick...anyway, my favorite cartoon was Rocko's Modern Life by far. When it comes to Nick-coms I really liked The Adventures of Pete and Pete. As for game shows, it's a three-way toss-up between GUTS, Nick Video Arcade and, Legends of the Hidden Temple.
