I'm not a huge anime/manga person (not that they're interchangeable, I'm just including them both), but I really really liked the Soul Eater anime series. Short and sweet. It could've been longer, but I'm glad they didn't drag it out for as long as possible like in other series.
Azumanga Daioh for both. Just a lot fun while being down to ground.

The first episode is attempt to be clever I guess. I nearly didnt watch episode2 thinking the whole series might be like episode1. But then after watching it all you want to want episode1 again.

My favorite manga is Genshiken. It influenced the lifestyle I live today.
My favorite anime is Katanagatari for it's touching story, unique art style and fantastic ending that almost made me cry.

My answers to both favourite anime/manga has to be "DeathNote" as I love Near and L. They are my favourite characters. "Deathnote" is the only anime and manga I still watch/read, as in recent years I have kinda drifted away from it, which is a shame as when I was a teenager I loved watching anime with my younger brother. I might try and find my way back into anime.
It's a certain Manga that I feel interesting recently.

Gundam (any except for Seed/Seed Destiny for lack of originality and bishie character designs and 0079 for some reason I can get past the aged animation) I like G Gundam in particular because of the hammines of Domon,s voice actor
