Favorite Anime Opening and Endings

It's just a pity the show never quite delved into what the first ending hinted at. The history of each servant would have been a hell of a lot more compelling than Emiya fucking Kiritisugu. Perhaps it's better this way so I can fill in the gaps myself, developing the story from the still frames.

Spoiler: You are not missing much when listening to the G.T.O. abridged versions of these songs but they're still my favourites for really nailing the atmosphere.

And now for my favourite opening song, it really deserves a better video, is the first opening to Fullmetal Alchemist.

Spoiler: Brotherhood has great openings and endings but the original beats them out just through Melissa.

Eh I prefer Ready Steady Go from FMA, but thats just me, not a bad song, can see why you like this opening

Frankly the only thing I liked about Evangelion was the intro.

Good ones are kind of a dime a dozen. Right now I'm watching El Cazador de la Bruja... and I really like the intro even though it really does nothing special or out of the ordinary. The classics have already been mentioned, no need to go there. I'd have to say I liked Gungrave's (even though the outro was just the hero and friend running, it was still good and a good song) and Outlaw Star's as well. It actually think it would be harder for me to name a "horribly unwatchable" one. Probably because if I disliked it at all... I usually just skipped it and now don't even remember it. Even the first anime I got into "Blue Seed" had a memorable and fun to watch intro. Hard to forget the badly translated English lyrics "Mysterious Tokyo... Take it easy Dangerous Night. Mysterious Tokyo... Pick me up Foxy Night Game."

Mine's definitely Opening 4 from Naruto Shippuden, playing "Closer" by Joe Inoue.

The clip is actually Opening 4.5, using the same music but different visuals, ones consistent with a major filler arc. The original one is better, but I couldn't find a verison on Youtube that hasn't been audiovisually altered in some way.

Aside from that, the opening for Hellsing is still brilliant, especially that song. Hella groovy.

The OP mentioned something about the visuals. I like Black Lagoon for that. I have a thing for gun porn and occasionally anime. That opening just combines the two.

I'd say both the Kill La Kill openings are pretty good but I prefer the first one. The second ending though... I for the life of me can't find one on youtube that hasn't had the audio removed because hooray for easily abuseable copyright systems. If you can watch one of the later episodes, I recommend watching it till the end because it's just a delightful amount of insanity. It also works as a palette cleaner considering the more dramatic turns the series is taking.

Guns are pretty cool, but to be honest not that big of a fun fan. But something I really love is swords, give me a sword porn....oh god I just thought of something else it is is nothing but pain *shivers*
