The Beatles nearly killed rock and roll. so none.
The beatles started the rock scene. by todays standards they aren't rock, but in their day htey were revolutionary.
OT: My favourite would have to be Elanor Rigby.
Uh, no. Not by any means.
50s rock had much more energy and was much more intense.
In the 60s rock and roll slowed down until the watered down Beatles crap came out, not only did they make a whole generation thinking that was rock and roll, they spawned a whole retarded offspring of indy rock that now plagues music in general.
The 50s music was called Rockabilly. They combined blues with Country (Or at that time Hillbilly music.)with pop lyrics. When the Beatles emerged they practically copied Elvis before they started to put more of a message in there music. The Beatles are the people who put Rock on the map. They can't ruin what they started. There the reason why American rock bands (Such as The Eagles, Aerosmith,The Foo Fighters had such big following in America because since the Beatles,Kinks and the Who were British they hardly toured here.)
Metal stated as Indie Rock, Country started as Indie Rock, ROCK IN GENREAL STARTED AS INDIE ROCK! Why are you mocking what Rock started as.
OT:
I have three Favorite songs.
Come Together (Although I do enjoy the Aerosmith version better)
Elenor Rigby (But then again who dosen't like that song.)
and
Love me do (I gotta pick one from there earlier years and there isn't one better then Love me do.)
