Beast Wars (aka Beasties)
Animaniacs
Pinky and the Brain
Dexter's Lab
to name a few in no particular order. I'm a child of the 90's through and through.

*ahem*

It's time for An-i-man-i-acs
And we're zany to the max
So just sit back and relax
You'll laugh till you collapse
We're An-i-man-i-acs

Come join the Warner brothers
And the Warner sister Dot
Just for fun we run around the Warner movie lot
They lock us in the tower whenever we get caught
But we break loose...
And then vamoose...
And now you know the plot

We're An-i-man-i-acs
Dot is cute and Yakko yaks
Wakko packs away the snacks
While Bill Clinton plays the sax
We're An-i-man-i-acs

Meet Pinky and the brain
Who want to rule the universe
Goodfeathers flock together,
Slappy wacks 'em with her purse
Buttons chases Mindy
While Rita sings a verse
The writers flipped
We have no script
Why bother to rehearse

We're An-i-man-i-acs
We have play for play contracts
We're zany to the max
There's baloney in our slacks
We're An-i-man-ee
Totally and zany
Here's the shows namey
An-i-man-i-acs
Those are the facts!

So many amazing ones already been mentioned in this thread. Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain and such were so well done, enjoyable for all ages. Batman, Xmen, Gargoyles, Beasties, Dexter's Lab, Reboot, Earthworm Jim. Props to MasterOfWhaEver for liking The Max, I rewatched it a while ago and definitely understood it a lot more then when I was younger. Liquid Television I think it was called had some really interesting cartoons.

And Daria = 90's youth attitude, such an awesome show. Bevis and Butthead was awesome too, so stupid on the surface but some real relevance if you paid attention. And yes old South Park was fairly different so that basically counts as a different show.

Right on! Now someone's speaking my language. There were others, but Reboot was always in my top three. And, will likely always be.

I was never that big into cartoons in the 80's. Save classic MGM and Warner toons. Those and Thundercats and TMNT. (Hey, I was a sucker for campy stuff as a kid. I've since learned better.) Never liked Transformers. Never will.

When Toonami rolled around, however, I was hooked. Granted, I wasn't a "little kid" by then, but who couldn't be sucked in by the likes of: Dragonball, Dragonball Z, Reboot, Samurai Jack, Big O, Mobile Suit Gundam, Gundam 0080, Gundam 0083, 08th MS team, Blue Sub No. 6, Outlaw Star, Megas XLR, etc, etc

Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

I watched it religiously as a kid, yet I somehow always missed the Zelda cartoon each Friday. That, or I just don't remember watching it back then at all.

'Teenage Mutant HERO Turtles', the UK original adaptation it all went downhill when we adopted the term 'ninja', still either version pissed all over 'The Biker Mice From Mars'. Oh yeah and a little known show called 'The Simpsons'.

I think my earliest cartoon memories are probably being lectured on crossing the road or not getting abducted by nonces from Adam (He Man... AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE) and 'Thundercats'... By the eye of Thundera give me sight beyond sight, which taught me not to joyride as "it wastes thundrillium" (petrol). What ever happened to speaking directly into the camera with a clunky moral? Assuming they don't still have them?

In retrospect, I really like Ren and Stimpy, didn't appreciate it at the time. Everything else I liked at the time either I think was really bad or I can just laugh about it's sillyness but don't really think it was good.

Also, I guess Animaniacs is extreme American humor, because I don't know a single person here who liked it.

Felt it was obnoxious, I mean it has "zany" in the theme song. However, I haven't watched it in a long, long time. Maybe I should revisit it for my retrospective on it.

Too many to list. I was born in '81 and had my eyes glued to cartoons since I was old enough to judge shapes.

But I will say one show that stands out in my heart and mind: Cartoon All-Stars to the Rescue! Papa Smurf, Michelangelo, Muppet Babies and the Chipmunks saving a teen from the dangers of Marihuanna*.

*I spelt it like how Simon the Chipmunk said it. It's really that funny, and like most kids shows, is so much more enjoyable while high.

Id have to say Shagma, it was called something else in english, being a french series it had a weird story and pretty uniqe style. The second place goes to Trasformers, the tv series jumped a bit too much in the story and just had the highlights, making some stuff a bit weird and a bit odd in context...

Beast Wars, and Swat Kats
Oh, man, Swat Kats. They had the most radical intro song ever.

And of course, who could forget Johnny Quest, Captain Planet, and all that good stuff.

Ah, I do believe it is nostalgia time.

Batman Animated series. I loved that show. DC has put out some great cartoons based on their properties since then (JLU, Teen Titans, other Batman shows), but nothing matches the game changer that was the animated Batman.

The Cartoon Cartoons were my favourites. Things like Jonny Bravo and Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy are still solid gold compared to the crap that's released today.
