Dr. Strange has a great arc in his backstory (arrogant surgeon gets his comeuppance) and is now Earth's Sorcerer Supreme. As if that wasn't bad ass enough, he was also the founder and leader of the original Defenders, which is objectively speaking, the most amazing super hero team ever.

Also, he has a mustache.

I agree. Doctor Strange is epic.

Nick Fury, or the Punisher (pre-Frankencastle, at least). In a world where you can't even cross the road in the morning without running into some form of galactic occurance or combat between super heroes/villains, it must take a lot to still get up in the morning, much less go out and kick ass.
