Blizzard.
They released the Diablo series, if the other two IPs weren't such blatant rip-offs I'd like them too. Still reason enough for me.

We had this thread at 29th. USE THE SEARCH BAR - and if that dosen't work, USE MOAR SEARCH BAR! Har har har!
Can't believe i finally get to be a Search Bar nazi for vaguely justified reason.
Well, you at least provided a link and did it with tongue somewhat in-cheek. Hell of a lot better than most of the search-bar Nazis.

OT: Favorite developer...hmmm. Ubisoft usually seems to make stuff I like, and some of EA's first-party development houses put out good stuff (Dead Space, anyone?).

I'd say that between the games released in 2008 and 2009, people have been given lots of good reasons not to get too wrapped up in brand loyalties.
For example,Bethesda put out FallOut 3 but then it went and unleashed WET upon the world.
Sega keeps making sub-standard Sonic the Hedgehog games but then they turn around and publish Bayonetta.
Developers are all over the place these days with the only constants being those who were never very good to begin with (like D3).

If I go with the best current track record, BioWare hasn't released a terrible game yet that I can think of, but as soon as that changes, my opinion on a favorite changes.

You mean Starcraft and Warcraft? They're not ripoffs, they're just in the same format as Diablo (Rts). They're actually quite different. They both require more strategy based on armies and such.
I'll give you a hint...Games Workshop..=)

I'll give you a hint too. Three, even! Starship Troopers. Dune. Lord Of The Rings.
There's a difference between having similarities, and flat out ripping it off.

You can say Halo is a rip off of Starship Troopers as well, but then again in Halo I don't see Space Marines fighting giant bug aliens.

in Starcraft:

Space Marines = Space Marines
Zerg = Tyranids
Protoss = Eldar

And in Warcraft the ripping off of Warhammer goes further....even going so far as the details of Orcs having Shamans and Dwarves having guns, gyrocopters, and tanks....0o

Stuff I don't remember from LOTR....hmmmm

Then it may have something to do with the fact that Starcraft/Warcraft were originally intended to be a licensed works based on Warhammer Fantasy/40k. Blizzard just didn't bother to change the archetypes after Games Workshop backed out of the deal.
