Oh tricky one to answer but I would have to say a toss up between all of the Moist Von Lipwig books, Night Watch and Maskerade if only for the Strawberry Wobbler.

For some strange reason i really cannot get on with the Death series.

Don't have one...

This thread just reminded me of my need to get into the series at last.

I'll agree with those who say it is very hard to pick a favorite, so I'll pick Night Watch, since it was the first one I read and which got me hooked on the series. Also because it really is one of Sir Pratchett's best works.

Although an honourable mention should go to Hogfather. The talk near the end, between Death and Susan, about the importance of all the lies that make us human, is something that really touched me at the time.

Hmmmmmmm.....It was Mort. Then Night Watch. It's recently become Going Postal and Making Money...I frikkin' love the character of Moist, I wish I was as awesome as him.

EDIT: Hm, add Feet of Clay to that. I'm reading it at the moment and it's made me laugh out loud several times already (Y)

Its impossible for me to pick one... or even several.. to be my favourites, I love almost all of them.

I certainly like the earlier ones less.. but all in all, anything Pratchett touches is gold.

Guards! Guards! and Men at Arms.

But I'd almost be inclined to say the Colour of Magic, since it has the best out and out jokes, albeit reading almost like it was written by a different person.
Color of Magic runs better if you read it with The Light Fantastic. But I did love the origin of In-sewer-ants, and all the shoutouts to other fantasy series like Dragonriders of Pern.

I'm torn between Witches Abroad and Fifth Elephant. Generally both The Guard and the Witches sub-series are just amazing in how they relate to either politics or story telling clichés. Third place would be Death series, because Death... and Death of Rats of course.

I like Monstrous Regiment the best, but I've liked all of the City Watch books a lot as well.

Eh... out of those I actually have, probably the Fifth Elephant or The Last Continent.

I only just got into them, I'm ashamed to say. My mates have been begging me to read them for ages and I finally picked up The Colour Of Magic and read it in a week. I'm nearly at the end of The Light Fantastic and it just gets better and funnier as it goes. I'm aiming to read as many as possible within a year. I am thoroughly addicted!

It's so hard! I love all of them!

I love the Watch boos the most though. Sam Vimes is perhaps my favorite character in the series, with Granny Weatherwax coming in second. To me, they seem to be the most real characters.

I love Nightwatch (My nick is even a reference to it)

But I also love Moving Pictures, Reaper Man, Soul Music, Going Postal, Equal Rites, Making Money, Faust/Eric, The Last Hero, Mort, The Colour of Magic, the Light Fantastic, Guards! Guards!, Men at Arms, Lords and Ladies, Sourcery, A Hat full of Sky, the Wee Free Men, Feet of Clay, Hogfather, Jingo, Carpe Jugulum, the Last Continent, Thief of Time, The fifth Elephant, Unseen Acidemicals (though I would have loved to see a little bit more of Discworld ball of the foot), Pyramids, Wyrd Sisters, the Amazing Maurice and his educated Rodents, Witches Abroad, Pyramids, Small Gods, Interesting Times, Maskerade, the Truth, Thud!, Wintersmith.

In fact the only one I feel a bit ambivalent about is the one I didn't name here. At least I think it's the only one :p

I haven't read the entire of the Discworld series (it's huge) but from what I have read, my favourite novel is the fourth novel; Mort.
I love Death as a character in Discworld and as he plays a large part in Mort it became a favourite book of mine.
