I'm a bit saddened that there is no love for Jungle Book. Jungle book was fantastic, though I will concede it has some high-caliber competition.

In terms of nostalgia I might have to go with the Great Mouse Detective. I watched it almost daily when I was little.
i gotta agree im sadened by the lack of jungle book or any of the other older non princess animated movies such as my favoret, Peter Pan.

The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Best Disney Movie ever.

Pixar movies, are just that Pixar.
I had totally forgotten that Disney distributed that
Well then I think I have to change my answer to Nightmare Before Christmas & Mulan. The music is what really did it for me in each of those movies. Not to mention, they were both my favorite worlds in Kingdom Hearts.

And yeah, I don't include Pixar movies in the Disney category, even if Disney owns em.

Not just Disney movie, but my favorite movie period is The Little Mermaid. Disney has a strong holding over my soul in general, though.

Mine definately has to be Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

Why? The movie's tagline is "Less singing, more explosions". I believe that says it all.

My all-time favorite was The Jungle Book. I grew up with The Jungle Book and I'm going to get my kid addicted to The Jungle Book, too.

The more modern Disney animated films that I enjoy is Lilo & Stitch. I like the animation direction, the music, the humor, and Stitch is one of my all-time favorite Disney characters.

"Up."

"The Hunchback of Notre Dame."

"The Great Mouse Detective."

The first is an emotional roller coaster that made me laugh and made me cry.

The second is one of Disney's best looking traditional animated films, with some stellar music by composer Alan Rickman, and a carefully crafted adaption of the original books plot, (despite some changes made to accommodate the kids.) Even so, it maintained a dark enough tone and still stands as one of the more risky flicks in the company's history.

And lastly, the third is none of these things, (minus the great animation,) and instead just ops for a fun, well-rounded adventure with some superb pacing and entertaining characters! Plus, what else is there to say that hasn't already been said about Vincent Price's role as the films villain?

Love all these movies to death!

I think you mean Alan Menken but I'm sure Alan Rickman could write a good score if he wanted to do so.

My favorite is definitely Aladdin. Before we got cable in my house, I basically watched it everyday. I watched it in English and Spanish and managed to learn the lyrics to every song in Spanish.

I'm sure he did mean Alan Menken, but Menken's first soundtrack for Disney was The Little Mermaid in '89.

Well, if I had a gun pointed at my head, I'd have to say Aladdin.

Barring that, there's Lion King, Nightmare Before Christmas, Toy Story, and Up.

Of Animated Films i would have to list these titles:
Beauty And The Beast
The Great mouse Detective
Treasure Planet
The Sword In The Stone
Lady and The Tramp
Toy Story (All 3 of them)
The Emperor's New Groove

While in terms of Live Action:
Mary Poppins

Without a doubt, Treasure Planet

Not only does it look amazing, have a kickass soundtrack but, and here the important part, ITS GODDAMNED TREASURE ISLAND IN SPACE!!!!
Agreed. And seriously, with robots, pirates, spaceships, and treasure, there isn't much more you could ask for.

i second this. Also Robin Hood (animated), and Alladin. Those are my top three. I'm not sure of the order.

BTW; I'm excluding all Pixar movies from this list. I am a pixar fanboy and as such i categorize pixar and disney as different things.
