Scar, Djaffar, and Dr. Facilier. Those were pretty fun :)

and all the lionesses starve to death (because apparently simba is the only male)
That was stupid, since actually, lionesses are those who hunt, not the male lions. But disney reality is often stupid, yeah.

Didn't remember that, glad I didn't watch the movie in years.

So yeah Disney movies always seem to have memorable villains, but who's your favorite? Jafar is deffo my fave. He's such a dick!

Also, I watched a bit of Disney Channel the other day. All I saw were teenagers singing and telling lame jokes. Where was the 'Disney?'
Praise yourself lucky that's all you have to endure when you watch Disney Channel. When I accidentally stumble over Disney Channel I have to deal with that and terrible dubbing. It's not the worst dubbing I've ever seen (I've seen some where one man does all the voices), but it's certainly crappy. I used to love Disney, but now they have abandoned the good stuff to show us bratty kids. They aren't fun and they make terrible role models showing us that being brats is what the cool kids do.

OT: I think I would have to go with either Jafar or Hades. Hades is hilarious, but he doesn't exactly make the best villain. He does however bring entertainment to a movie I enjoyed and the show which I also enjoyed. Jafar is a better villain, but not as fun. He is devious and pure evil. Lots of villains fail their quests because they simply wont kill the hero. Jafar could probably have done better by simply slitting throats, but then that would be easier to discover. When he threw Aladdin in a pool only luck saved him. He understood that setting traps weren't enough, he took an active part. That makes him both a good villain and it makes him one of my two favourite Disney villains.

Scar. Now there was a guy who did not fuck about, he saw his oppertunity to kill Mufasa and was like 'right, time to throw someone into traffic'.

While i find Jafaar a more amusing villain, i'd have to go with saying that Scar is my favorite. Beside the fact that the man killed Darth vader and put Rowan atkinson in a empty ribcage, he's classy. Though a coward....at least he's got a smooth baritone to sing in.
Oh. My. Cthulhu. Rowan Atkinson was the bird? D: I never realized that before, but now that I do..........

Mind = blown.
. David Spade's only work of genius.
And Scar is played by Jeremy-Havelock-vetinari-Irons, and Whoppi goldberg is a jackal.*pause* in the movie....

jafar by a long way. Shadowman follows with a strong second, and then i guess hades. The Hun leader from Mulan is pretty badass but there isn't much of him he's just kinda there.

Hades, without doubt.
James Woods just makes that film so much better than it already is as Hades.
Hercules is my favourite animated Disney film and James Woods is a big reason why. The other is the music.

My favourite Disney villain, though, is Davy Jones from PotC 2 & 3. Bill Nighy is astounding in that role and he's a very well-rounded villain. He has a brilliant voice, he's comical in places, his look tells you a lot about him immediately. There's quite a bit of depth to him, uncovered as the films progress, as well.

Uhh... I'll go out on a limb here and say Flemith (Or however you spell that) from Tangled.
Which character is that? Name does not sound familiar at all, and Googling just gives me Dragon Age stuff.

OT: You know, for a long time my answer would have been Scar, but I think I have to bump him down a tiiiiiiny bit and say that Mother Gothel from Tangled is my favorite. While Scar is an absolute badass, Gothel actually frightens me. The way she emotionally abuses Rapunzel and then manipulates her into sticking around is something real abusive parents do. The concept of a kid loving an abusive parent, and not wanting to leave the abuse because they think that it's being done to "protect" them, and that leaving would hurt the parent ("I am a horrible daughter") is all taken straight from real life. Mother Gothel exists.

I'd have to say my favourite villain that I can remember, would be Scar. Considering I haven't watched many disney films lately, he really is one that I remember the most fondly. Honourable mention does have to go to Stinky Pete the Prospector, voiced by Kelsey Grammar, who is also my favourite Simpsons villain.

There's a part of me that wants to say Shan Yu from Mulan. He didn't get as much screentime as a lot of the other Disney Villains, but what you saw of him tended to enforce his threatening nature. Establishing Character moment? A single line.

*Great Wall guard lights a signal fire to warn china of the Hun invasion*
Guard: "Now all of China knows you're here"
*Shan Yu breaks off a nearby chinese flag and adds it to the fire*
Shan Yu: "Perfect"
Wonderful introduction. And let's not forget a little question from later in the film. "How many men does it take to deliver a message?"

Though to be fair, while this did work for the character, you can't argue with character development, and in that I have to echo those before me with Gaston, who grew into the role of villain and Frollo who went to war with himself over his newest character flaws while being unable to recognize the worse ones in himself which then spiral out of control as he tries to either indulge or control his newest desires.

Then again, we also have David Xanatos from Gargoyles, who played every angle for the bulk of the show and never really got to a point where he wasn't a potential threat.
Shan Yu always scared me, the dude was so evil o_O

I'm going to say this now, because I'm sure some of you were thinking it, but I did not know that Captain/Admiral Anderson could sing. I've already left a response so look at that if you must.

so for me it's ether Ratigan or Percival C. McLeach.

Ratigan my easy answer. I mean hell, it's fucking Vincent Price voicing an power hungry, egocentric, med genius rat! That just screams best villian.

McLeach is a tougher sell. first many people don't know what movie he's from (i'm not going to list it just to see if anyone knows) but he fucking kidnaps and attempts to kill a HUMAN KID just for the sake of money! He's a ruthless money hungry bastard! Not the brightest of the villians, but one of the most determined!

Hard to decide between my top 5...

Yzma...that flea monologue is brilliant!
Jaffar
Scar
Hades
Judge Frollo

Funny that with sooooo many great movies under their belt, the dominant villains that seem to be the most memorable in this thread are all coming from about a 6 year spread...

Jafar all the way. I just find him hilarious- he's so slick and capable (unlike every other character, they're all just bumbling along), yet he's constantly frustrated through bad luck. Plus, he pretty much is the evil vizier trope made amusing.
