Its been announced that we will have the 12th doctor, 50 years of doctor who, immpressive, lets take a moment to reflect ,and debate who is the best.

I myself am a fan of Tom Baker's portrayal of the Fourth Doctor, his almost insane nature, and yet cheerful attitude to dangerous situations made me love him.

My favorite Episode (that I have seen) is the Three Doctor's, where Doctors 1 through 3 team up to face Omega, the ruler of Anti-Matter

Great interaction, and the first time we got the many team ups of the doctor.

Anything else, I love Dalek episodes, just love those tin cans who can kill ya LOL.

4th Doctor for most of everyone, I'd say. His later stuff was a bit hit and miss though.

Not surprised, in an interview Tom Baker explained that he was a bit controling and though he knew how to run the show. When he submitted his resignation, he was surprised with how fast they accepted it. Still not a bad actor.

More than that, I think, the show had problems after he left as well. JNT made quite a few questionable decisions as producer.

True I suppose, can't argue that the classics had problems, and I won't say, "Classics or GTFO" I like classic and revial doctor who episodes

I've got to second Tom Baker, and go with his first episode, Robot. All of his episodes were great, but Robot gave us my favorite quote.

Christopher Eccleston, to a lot of people he wasn't the best but he was the doctor in my eyes. The Doctor, personally, is meant to be the mad professor and I think no one fills the role better then Christopher Eccleston.

Favorite episode, Blink. Its still the only episode that can scare me. The passing, the atmosphere the, weeping angels, it just worked, and I know its a really popular choice but it was just a perfect episode in my eyes. Too bad the other episodes with the weeping angels in didn't hold up

Either Eccleston or Tennant are my favourites. Despite being an evolution of the others character. Tennant's Doctor wouldn't be the same without Eccleston.

Favourite episode is probably the Utopia/Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords arc because Tennant and Simm worked so well together as opposites.

Only seen it from the reboot, and it's a really hard choice between Eccleston and Tennant. I think I prefered Ecclestone, but Tennant really grew on me over the episodes. Can't say the same about Smith. Quit bothering with the show a few episodes after he took over.

Favorite episode is even harder since I've marathon watched the show and have a hard time serparating episodes. The parallell world episodes are among the favorites though. Dislike the Dalek episodes the most. They were fun at first, but quickly became really fucking repetative.
Favorite companion(which should also have been a question!) is definetly Martha. Rose was fine, but often annoyed me. Martha was smart and slightly dominant, which was great qualities for a side kick. The whole "I love him and he doesn't love meeeee" side story could've been skipped though.
Donna was ok, but why she played a 25 year old when her real age was twice that is beyond me.

I started with the revival, so I'm gonna have to say David Tennant. He's always been "my" Doctor. Though my favorite from the classic series is *puts up flame shield* Peter Davidson. Yeah, yeah! I know! Tom Baker is fantastic as the Doctor and I love him in the role. I just enjoyed Davidson's Doctor a bit more. But Tom Baker is my third all time favorite.

As for favorite episode, either Girl in the Fireplace or Blink. I'm not going to delve into classic episodes because there are too many.

No flames dude, you like what you like. And I don't want to sound like a knee-jerk reactionary, but some of my best friends list Peter Davidson as their favorite too.

Favorite Doctor--All of them! Each actor brought something to the part and left his mark, and I love them all! Yes *even* Colin Baker!
Favorite companions are Peri and Jamie, so my favorite episode is........

The Two Doctors.
But you knew that already.

I enjoy Smith, but I don't always enjoy the material he has to deal with. Not making commentary on a certain someone's writing ability, just an observation of Smith's episodes.

Don't know if he's my favorite, but it's up there.

The 5th doctor wasn't a bad one, I liked him for his pacifist nature, the Doctor's will to not resort to violence, it made him likeable, and he also did a great performance with David during that childrens in need special

I think this just about sums me up as well, Smith's portrayal of the Doctor has been consistently good, but he has had some truly awful scripts to work with at times, and a lot of people blame him for the noticeable shift the show's undergone with a new showrunner.

That said, I know for a fact that I'm biased towards Matt Smith simply on account of him being the most recent Doctor. Eccleston was fantastic as well. Need to watch some Tennant episodes again.

Favourite episode? I haven't watched many classic episodes but the Genesis of the Daleks serial is fantastic. As for the revival... End of the World is probably my favourite. Combines a lot of really great things into one episode; if you weren't sold on any aspect of the revival by the opener then I think that will convince yo.
