Sometimes good ideas for a cartoon show don't always make it. What are your favorite failed cartoon pilots? I personaly think that The Modifyers from Nickelodeon had a very original concept, a unique setting, and interesting characters. But Nickelodeon thinks kids only want farting and butt jokes. 3 Dog Band from Cartoon Network had the potential to become the Jet Grind Radio of cartoons due to its soundtrack alone.

Excluding The Modifyers I guess that would be this-
While the unusual fantasy like setting was interesting enough but what soul me was the humour!!
Ok technically they couldn't had made that into a series cos there was only 1 issue/ story on Screw on Head (my mate own the graphic novel). Also it was the Hellboy creator who made Screw on Head.

Lastly while this doesn't count either since it's more of an dropped animation style but I feel it should be mention to those who never heard of it

I saw this trailer and I was somewhat intrigued by it (maily cos Toei animation are involved in it. When I dug deeper, I found this-
From what I've gather that PV, is a test animation from Toei as they try to persuade the French team to take the shoe direction into anime which they turned down and used CGI instead.

Ok yes I'm going to sound like those anime hispter who view 2d animation to be superior to 3d animation but I just find the PV to be far more appealing than the 3d counterpart. I think it mainly because I got a better impression on what the show is going to be than the 3d teaser trailer of it. I suppose I do got to give credit that the 3d did kept the exaggerated empression (the girl shock reaction).
Either way I kind of hoping the shows will be good on its own right but the teasure trailer doesn't really selling it to me.

I loved Korgoth of Barbaria for it's send up of low fantasy stories like Conan but apparently no one else was interested.

Do the shorts from What A Cartoon and Oh Yeah! cartoons count?

I may as well include the stuff from DC Nation too.
I don't really think Farm League could be a full show but would love it if more shorts were made.
There are more but I can't think of any at the moment.
Edit: Here's one

Not sure if this counts, but there was a Fire Emblem anime based off the first game that got all of two episodes. Would've loved to see more of that.

From what I understand of the situation, it did really well with the ratings and the viewer responses, but Adult Swim decided that producing the series would have cost more money than they were willing to spend at the time. I also believe they went on record a few years later saying they regret not picking it up. Truly, it is the most tragic thing that can happen to a pilot episode.

And for those that haven't seen it...
