My favorite weapon is the Chinese Assault Rifle. I used it for most of the game because of its good damage and easy-to-find ammo.

It really depends on what kind of character I'm playing. And I also didn't really like any of the vanilla Fallout 3 weapons (they weren't very creative or effective), so far, I've only really had fun with weapons introduced by modders and of course, that auto-axe thing introduced in the second DLC.
A3-21's Plasma Rifle That damn thing took so long to do the quest right I'll be damned if I'm not gonna make good use of it.
The jack/Mauler
The Jack: (Put on "the ripper" by Judas Priest)
The Jack is a great weapon,it's special ability is almost too strong. The special ability for those who don't know, is extra limb damage,tacked on to regular damage.
I've repelled overlords, and albino radscorpians with this item of English mystery. the only problem is that i can't simply throw the jack and grind his victim's organ's till the scene of the attack is much like the actual jack the ripper's last murder, all this from a distance. maybe there's a mod to launch rippers from the rock-it launcher....

Put on "Return to Hanger" by megadeth)
This weapon is a...force of the very bowels of hell itself. combined with my action boy perk, i can strike twice with this thing,anything human shaped(besides ghoul reavers)can be cut down with one grinding blow.super mutants(on average, please mind that i also have the ninja,and better critical perk)take two shots before going down.
The only creature it seems to have a problem cutting through is the reavers, those unholy ghouls, that could probably take on the behemoths.

If you give sydney the note from her father, you get her gun without killing her.

not to me; my armor was done from a constant run into enemies,and considering that i had raided old olney, and i forgot my dart gun.
i couldn't repel either, they didn't react adverse to pain. that's why i think there the crystal clear advarsary of the behemoth,especially in a pack like the one in the pres metro.

Metal Blaster - 9 laser beams at once?! It's like a laser shotgun!
Autoaxe - Reduce an enemy to chunky bits without the need of the "bloody mess" perk.
MIRV - pretty much a Fatman on steroids
Heavy Incinerator - Launches Fireballs.
Tesla Cannon - like an eyebeam from an anti-communist robot.

the Infiltrator(from The Pitt) Reservist's Rifle or the Combat Shotgun, they are the only weapons i use, love the scope and silencer of the infiltrator, the deadliness of the combat shotty and the deadly accuracy of the Reservist's Rifle.
