What is your favorite Fallout game or DLC...and why..

My answer would have to be Fallout: New Vegas...I enjoyed the story the most...and even though it was so buggy...i really liked the vegas environs and that i rose up from nothing

Now its your turn...

I'd have to say I'm with you on Fallout: New Vegas. While I have much to complain about concerning the game, I have logged an embarrassing number of hours on it, enough to solidify it as one of my favourite games ever. It does well at improving on Fallout 3, especially in giving you an actual decision about who to side with in the end.

As for DLCs, Dead Money. Hands down. Sure, it was a bit unforgiving. But unlike some of the other DLCs, which feel like being handed a tantalizing potato chip and denied the rest of the bag, it actually felt satisfying and rewarding in the end. The atmosphere was terrific, the story and characters were engaging, the payoff was grand. I only hope that Old World Blues and Lonesome Road will be that good.

I really liked Point Lookout in Fallout 3, though that is likely because it felt relaxed and fun. "The Pit" was my least favorite though, as, despite the "moraly grey" ending, I knew I made the right choice.

Fallout New Vegas is in my top 10 list of video games I loved the setting and some of the dark humor sure it had bugs but I marched on anyway cause it was so fun. Point Lookout was also great fun plenty of elbow room so I could explore freely also was ascetically pleasing.

Oh, The Pitt. The Pitt can go and do many unpleasant things to itself that I will refrain from mentioning here. For the most part, it was average, but there was one part near the beginning that stood out.

So I'm told that bad things are going down in this place, slaves need freeing, blah blah and all that. I think 'well, I'm only the invincible hero of the land. Forget about sneaking in quietly.' Strolling up to the grand walls of the Pitt, I handily put bullets in the heads of every guard who dares to look in my direction. I am then forced to watch a pithy little pseudo-cutscene in which my character is beaten down by a couple of half-dressed men wielding police batons.

Weakest excuse for a supposed-to-lose fight ever.

My favorite game is Fallout 3, but my favorite DLC would probably have to be Honest Hearts, just because it was a really cool environment. Sure, it didn't have very much to do and it wasn't the most action packed, but all the yao-guai and the dusty canyon feel of it was a good escape from the mojave.

I haven't played New Vegas yet :-(. Waiting for all of the DLC to be out and the game to ship with the DLC included like they did with Fallout 3.

Tell me about it. Near the end there (I was about level 28 at the time) I cold one shot anyone and everyone, and then get all my AP back to to perks, and the fact that I had all the bobbleheads.

Also, "Grey" morality does not work if you have a karma system in place, in my opinion.

I think I also liked Point Lookout because I made thousands of caps by finding and selling the fruit.

New Vegas is probably one of my favorite games of all time. Fallout 3 is up there but it's seriously hampered by poor writing and story (I don't want to get into it).

As far as DLC's go? Hmm. I'd say for Fallout 3 I really liked Point Lookout. I've gotten to the point where I just replay Fallout 3 to play Point Lookout again. The atmosphere is really nice, I love the boardwalk and the Velvet Curtain is my favorite quest in the entire game.

For New Vegas, I love Dead Money. Sure, it's frustrating at points, but the story, characters, and setting are just amazing. Honest Hearts was really good too, but the main quest design was rather questionable. Loved exploring and finding the survivalists journals however.

I loved New Vegas, it just seemed better built and more interesting. The story was REALLY interesting compared to the meh story from 3. I also loved Point Lookout because of the atmosphere. *twangs the banjo*

Fallout 3 and my favorite is probably Point Lookout as well because i think that's where i got the Clown Mask (Pint-Sized Slasher Mask) along with the Toy Knife and went on a crazy killing spree while acting like that scary clown from IT.

I love Dead Money it's the first thing I've played for ages that actually felt threatening and challenging (played on Hardcore and Very Hard). I kind of resented them putting the stupid vending machines in a little, kind of ruined the whole thing.

Point Lookout is good aswell. I like to think of it as the: sarcastic british ghoul = awesome ratio :D

I guess I'll be the first to pick Fallout (the first one).
I'm not one of those jaded old timers who thinks the new games were bad though, I liked them quite a lot.

True haha. I had trouble though finding the right outfit to go along with the clown mask though. I think this was the best i could do.

I'm starting to play Fallout 1 now, and will move on to Fallout 2 and then Tactics soon afterward. So far, New Vegas is my favorite. I absolutely hated Fallout 3, though.

Fallout 2. That's where they really perfected the feel and lore of the series. The new games are good too, though... just with a very different delivery.

I would say Fallout 3. It simply just had better immersion in the story. You were the vault dweller, not just some random courier. Same reason I prefer Morrowind over Oblivion.
Another reason would be because Fallout 3 was new to me, New Vegas just seemed like DLC, not a new game.
