I'm one of those lucky people who experienced next to no problems with Fallout New Vegas. It was a wonderful gaming experience for many reasons that I won't go into right now, but it has a lot to do with how strong the narrative was, and how powerful the payoff was at the end. Didn't really play any of the DLC. Just not my thing, really. For me, the story's over when it's over.
in terms of bugs...its just little things i guess..

on the whole it was an awesome effing experience...

I also have been having the directx problem where the frame rate is crappy as...once i get around to fixing that...it should run smoother on my pc

I liked Fallout 3, I haven't as of yet played NV, I thought the aesthetics and engine were too samey to justify me forking out another £45. I really enjoyed Fallout 3 though, I found it immersive, story driven and entertaining although the landscape was immensely dreary and all the characters had the uncanny valley look on their faces when I spoke to them. Anyways DLC wise I thoguht they were all good, the Pit was definately the weakest of the 4 but I liked that Snake Plissken from Escape from LA was in it. Broken Steel was great, you got to finally take down the Enclave save what's left of America and the part where Liberty Prime dies almost had me shedding a tear. Point Lookout reminded me of Deliverance and that film scares me quite a bit (for obvious reasons) I liked all the easter eggs like finding the Michael Myers mask or getting the Necronomicron for the old man in the house (Which made you have to go back into the Dunwich building, one of the scariest places in Fallout 3 possibly after the Deathclaw Sanctuary) but the best DLC in my opinion was Mothership Zeta, all the cool stuff you got from that DLC (cowboy outfits, samurai outfits, laser guns) and I will never ever tired of makign those ugly little spaces mens heads pop off after they tried to probe me and that little girl!

My favorite Fallout was New Vegas, but my favorite DLC has to be Point Lookout. It's so different compared to the rest of Fallout 3.

I just got into fallout, and I must say Fallout 3 is one of the best things I've ever played.

I'm going to be a crotchety old man and say its the first one, don't get me wrong I enjoyed 3 (haven't gotten around to NV) and 2 is probably the best. But the first game was just so different in tone to any other game I'd played, with ambivalent morality and multiple choices. Simply brilliant.

I think that from every logical standpoint, New Vegas is the best. It has the best gameplay, most balanced character builds, some actual decision in terms of the direction that the plot takes, and a laser tommy gun. However, I really missed the gray skies of Fallout 3 versus the orange of New Vegas. I just like gray skies.

Fallout 3 and my favorite is probably Point Lookout as well because i think that's where i got the Clown Mask (Pint-Sized Slasher Mask) along with the Toy Knife and went on a crazy killing spree while acting like that scary clown from IT.
obviously the dev's intended this as a crucial junction in the narrative flow......just saying haha

ahh...so much fun to be had
That's what I love about Bethesda games you can totally make it your own. I played my first Fallout 3 character as evil and so did my friends one of whom was a hardass biker guy, turns out they didn't even think of doing half the things I did.

I'll show them for thinking im just a little white magic gurl >:3

I'd probably say Fallout 2 is my favorite. It's everything I loved about Fallout, but much more of it. I know there are a lot of people out there who dislike it because of how many popular culture references there are... but I actually have a good time trying to spot those in games. It's like an Easter egg hunt to me.

If I had to rank the games from favorite to least favorite, I'd probably go...
1. Fallout 2
2. Fallout
3. Fallout: New Vegas
4. Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel
5. Fallout 3
6. Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel

That said... the last one on the list is really the only one that I actually thought wasn't entertaining.
