I have always had a soft spot for the Gunblades from Final Fantasy VIII:

I just think that they look so cool.
I see your Gunblade, and raise you the Lunatic Pandora.

A sword you can fire to make it vibrate? Pah! The Pandora summons waves of monsters from the moon to crash into its enemies!
Curses! You win this round! Well played, well played.

I'm a huge Star Wars fan, so...

The good old lightsaber, honestly. Simple, kinda elegant, devastating in the right hands.

Also Han Solo's DL-44 blaster, but more for how iconic it is to me now.

The Energy Sword from Halo was pretty cool, too.

Vortex Grenades [http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Vortex_grenade] from 40K.
These days they're super special, hard to get hold weapons that virtually nobody can use.
Back in my day you could give them to any Imperial Guard platoon. Especially amusing were assault platoons as you could give them jump packs as well. Fwooosh, bounce, everything in throwing range is utterly and irrevocably dead.
Huh. I wonder why you can't give them Vortex Grenades anymore. Balance, perhaps?

Sorry, I can't say that with a straight face. Balance in 40k is like any number of your favorite oxymorons.

Anyway, gotta go with Melta weapons from Warhammer 40,000. They shoot fusion. No, really. They shoot material that is in the process of fusing together as it is shot at the target. Plus, in the tabletop, get within half the weapon's max range and vehicles just go away.

Wait, I changed my mind! Does Lysander count as a weapon? Because he's my favorite. The fungal goo of many Orks has been spilled by his mighty, craklin' hammer.

Jak's morph gun [http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121029044748/playstationallstarsbattleroyale/images/thumb/d/d2/Jak_and_Daxter_Morph_Guns.png/500px-Jak_and_Daxter_Morph_Guns.png] in the Jak and Daxter series. Basically take the basic form of a gun, and slap an extra part on it, and suddenly, bam, it becomes a new weapon entirely. Even I'll admit that all of these have gotten me out of so many situations.
Have to agree with you there. Even more so since we're talking about the one in Jak 3 because you get a gun mod for just about every occasion. It's practically the Swiss army knife of guns.

Another favorite of mine has to be the [a href="http://ratchet.wikia.com/wiki/RYNO_II"]RYNO II[/a] from Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando. The bastard love child of the original RYNO and a chain gun with the result being one hell of a kick ass weapon.

And when there is a need of an even bigger gun, my favorite has to be [a href="http://ironbrigade.wikia.com/wiki/%22Mr._Pancakes%22"]Mr. Pankcakes[/a] from the game Iron Brigade. It's an artillery cannon the drops small bomblets from the main projectile the home in on any enemy unlucky enough to get caught in it's path. With two of these things you can cause massive amounts of destruction on just about any battlefield.

Unfortunately that's all I can think of at the moment without looking through all the weapons of all the games I've played which would take way too long.

As long as there's no size limit:

Let's be fair, anything in the target area of this bad boy is going to get absolutely obliterated so I feel it deserves a mention.

Ignoring how potentially damaging to causality it could be, I nominate Balefire. It can not only completely eliminate anything it hits, but depending on how much power is thrown into it's creation, it can erase a target retroactively from existence. The more power used, the further back in time the target ceases to exist for. Throw enough power into it, and the target might wind up not ever having existed in the first place. I just imagine Hitler's dad standing around one day and then clutching at his balls and saying, "Ow, my sperm" like Fry under the F ray.

Culture Knife Missile.

An autonomous, AI-driven, self-propelled weapon in the shape of a dagger. They are basically flying knives that zip around and slice objects apart, only they do it faster than any human could possibly react, and with powerful force fields.
Oh good choice! And you're even somewhat underselling them.
They're implied to be weapons platforms in their own right with antimatter submunitions, onboard energy weapons, 'effectors' (advanced aggressive ECM packages) etc. Really the speed and implied monofilament-style sharpness is the most crude thing about them, the lowest level of lethal force they can bring to bear. Most of the time when SC Drones use them against human opponents (like in Use of Weapons) they're basically toying with them.

Well, to be fair, before they brought out the first proper army lists 40K was very balanced. Everyone played by the same set of rules and any cosmic level dickotry your opponent engaged in could also be done by you. Only difference was the trooper stats and that could be got around easily by using champions/heroes.

The Conversion Beamer from (Warhammer 40k): It fires a beam of nuclear explosions at you.

The Cataclysmis Device (Warhammer 40k): A nuclear hand grenade.

A handful of bees (Bioshock): It's a handful of bees and you throw them at people.

The lightsaber (Star Wars): Its a sword made of lasers.

Oh come on, that's threatening, but not a total "oh fuck" weapon to face, the weapon that holds that title is the variant Experemental MIRV. [http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Experimental_MIRV] You know the hell with one mini nuke shot at a time, when you can fire eight at once.
I was mostly thinking about the Fallout 4 Fatman, which I believe that one can be modded to become a MIRV type.
So I guess I count them as the same thing. ^_^

Unless your talking about the Fallout 3 type, which has a grueling quest (or PC cheating) to get the MIRV weapon. Heck, I believe Fallout New Vegas didn't even have it, but a specific ammo type which shot multiple bombs... I believe that was from the Gun Runner's Arsenal DLC.

Either way, yes, the MIRV is fucking cool, but I haven't unlocked it yet. :p
in fallout 4 its worth buying the big boy fat man in diamond city.. and upgrading that to MIRV.. hell if you are going to fire 8 mininukes cluster bomblets with each shot why not go all the way and fire 16 KA BOOM

but for all around fun you cant beat the 2076 world series champions baseball bat from fallout 4. small chance of a knock back effect when you hit someone, so yes hit that supermutant behemoth enough times and he will go flying 300ft :)

I love greatswords so in Dark Souls one and two I went for the Black Knight Greatsword and the plain Greatsword, respectively.

12, actually. Don't ask me why that is, it just is. Still though, that's 12 mini nuke explosions for the price of 1, which is something to behold

The Gravitation Beam Emitter (that pistol-looking thing) that Killy uses in Blame! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDA1bUkotIk] for sure.

And there's Anglachel [http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Anglachel], solely for its history, from Beleg to Turin, in Glaurung, and then through Turin himself. It's gone through quite a bit.

My favourite sword ever would have to be Excalibur [http://typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Excalibur], Saber's Noble Phantasm. I just find it so beautiful; the most beautiful.

The Fatman [http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/f/fb/Fallout4_Fat_man.png/revision/latest?cb=20151205192630] from the same universe as the choice before. This is probably the weapon you want to use if you want your enemy's last words to be "oh fuck."
I really enjoyed the origin story for the Fatman at Fort Strong. The idea of weapons designers getting this ridiculous demand for a portable mini-nuke slinger and actually the plans they come up with.

That said tactics had some amazing weapons, but again, broken the Fallout style so it doesn't count.
I don't really understand this complaint about the tech in Tactics. Fallout 1 had Desert Eagles wielded by a huge chunk of the Wasteland. Fallout 2 had real life weapons like the FN FAL, Thomspon Submachine gun, Pancor Jackhammer and G11. The fact Tactics had real life weapons like the M-16, Ak47, etc didn't seem so strange. They still had laser/plasma/gauss weapons and what not.
