Scorpion for me. He was always my favorite in the original Mortal Kombat. I even dressed as him for Halloween one year as a kid.

Few experiences in gaming are more satisfying than crushing opponents online with this tiny, geriatric, Leukemia-ridden Chinese man. He is, in terms of damage output and health, the weakest character in the game. The fact that he fights with two different stances, Crane and Mantis, makes his fighting style incredibly complex and technical, leading most players to abandon using him due to the difficulty involved.
But if you take the time to learn, you'll discover that Gen's tools are some of the very best SFIV has to offer. His jump has one of the lowest arcs (only Hakan's is lower), allowing you to easily set up one of the nastiest crossups in the game. He's also one of the only characters in the game who can reliably link from his full Super Combo to his full Ultra Combo.

On a more serious note, after having started up playing Guilty Gear XX #reload and getting back into it again, I have finally decided on my character for that game, so I am retracting my Robo-Ky and Venom statements...

I would also like to add that I love these threads, it's almost nice to see what games/fighting games people are playing, and see what kind of styles their characters reflect upon time

Although I'm best with really fast characters (Maxi in Soul Calibur, Noel in Blazblue), my favourite will always be Bang (Blazblue). (Scorpion comes close though. "GET OVER HERE")
Being a fan of Gurren Lagann, it's always a pleasure being able to play as what is basicially ninja-Kamina.

Dizzy from Guilty Gear, though I honestly have never been GREAT with her, I just love the character design. Or Tallim from Soul Calibur, I could rock just about anyone I played if I used her.
Lucas in Brawl, because that's the only fighting game I'm good at, all others are button mashing because trying to actually block and use combos never works for me.
Street Fighter: M. Bison is beast (alternately, Sakura and Akuma). This is my triumvirate of fireball spam murderers.
.......Aaaaaand that's it. I don't play any other fighting games (any that you guys have heard of anyway [sub][small][small]Touhou anyone?[/small][/small][/sub])
Edit: And I take that back. I used to play Dead or Alive 2 and Ayane was my main. Lei Fang is also good. I wish I had more than a DoA 3 demo. Hitomi beats both of them (and is way better than Ein)
