FFXI Online: The Forgotten Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy XIV is actually going to be based strongly on it, it seems. The races are very similar, and Square Enix is going to establish a system in which FFXI players will be able to transfer their character names directly from FFXI to XIV.

It's a close tie between IX and X. I love both for pretty much the same reasons: great battle systems, great atmosphere, great stories, great characters...etc.

9,10,6,x-2,7,4,2,5,8,1,12 Never played 3 which makes me sad.

9 has the best storyline, it's cheerful, it goes back the FF roots and is the only FF game that doesn't have a sad/disappointing ending.

10,6,7 and x-2 are all really close together and they could switch based on how i'm feeling/playing. 10 was a beautiful game, story was great, and it had auron. 6 was a HUGE game, it was fun, had THE best villian in any game and the story was great. x-2 despite people hating it is one of my favourite games, Squeenix made it to be a fun game and not to be taken seriously, it has a fun soundtrack, the job system was fun, the sidequests and damn is it hard to get 100% in it, which is nice. 7 is fun, probably the best battle/skill system, story was there too, i just find it overrated and has been drawn out, but don't get me wrong, i like the characters, music, storyline, etc. it's just meh to me.

4,2,5 are all really close too, great games, i'm sure it's just the SNES gameplay that hinders it for me.

And finally 8 and 12, both games i can't stand, 12 more so, mainly because it's not an FF game, the story line was horrible, with the big bad never really being a big bad. It wasn't so much of "I'm going to destroy this planet" as it is in every other game, it was simply "I'm gonna take over this continent and control it with my dictating ways" boring. If i wanted that i'd go to Cuba.

FF X for me. The battle system was rewarding and tactical, the ATB systems always felt decent to me but never great, except in Parasite Eve. Also it took the story elements from earlier titles and really improved upon them (in my opinion. I think FF VI had the most interesting cast of characters though.

FF3 (I'm not going to call it 6. The cart on my shelf says "3", so that's what it's called) is the only one I like, and I like it quite a bit. The cast of characters, although there is some cliche, is varied and largely interesting, with each character having an interesting story and each has their own unique special ability. My favorite thing about it, though, is that halfway through the game, the villain actually manages to end the world.

1000 POSTS!!! But first...

...Why has this thread been made, we had an identical one yesterday. And another one the week before this. Oh dear. Final fantasy favourite threads are now becoming more common place than zombie threads.
1000 posts, my grand, my big one, my big 1000 will be used up simply to ask why. :(

None the less, I'll answer the same as I always have.

FF II for the level up system.

FF V for the job system

FF VI for the story/characters.

FF IX for the story/characters.

FF X for the graphics.
im sorry i didnt see anything when i searched
I'll forgive you. Only because final fantasy games leak pure awesomeness.

I personally have to put XII as my favorite. I liked how it really challenged completionists like myself, even after reaching level 99 with all six characters. Favorite moment of that game was beating that mother*@#*$*$ dragon. (FFXII players know the one I'm talking about)

FFVI is a close second, mostly due to the characters Terra, Edgar, and Sabin. (And Shadow too, of course, but you people already knew that, as he's a frickin ninja)

XII for unique system, best overall story

X-2. Wonderful combat system, everything else sux.
FF tactics advance.....the original fft is good though

Hell wyrm? /cry
an hour and a half later, it's at 1/8 health, and suddenly it attacks 4 times as fast and the damage limit goes down.

Nope, not Hell Wyrm. I'm talking Yiazmat. You know, the one that has 50 million hp. It literally took me an entire hour and 15 minutes to kill that S.O.B.
