Well, Paramore (US) and Simple Plan (Canada, I'm pretty sure) are both bands I really like. Also Pink on occassion (US as well, I think). I'm from the land down under, we don't exactly have the biggest selection of artists.

Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall. Fans of Max Payne will know their song Late Goodbye, that one tune that keeps popping up all over Max Payne 2. They used to be my favourite band, but then I discovered Tool. I also like Sigur Ros. There are some British bands I like, but I don't know if they really count as foreign, since the US & the UK are so similar.
Does Cibo Matto count? An American band made up of two Japanese-American girls and a British guy...not sure if that's foreign enough...

Yeah, most people haven't heard of it.
Too overtly hipsterish. Try something like:

"Yeah, I lived in a village there for a few weeks during my gap year. Avoided all the tourist traps, lived like a local and got lost in the culture. Life there is so much more authentic."
*hair flip*

P.S. I've heard rumor that late night infomercial products are advertised as being "from America" as a testament to their quality in Europe. Confirm/deny? Here in the U.S. we usually use "they've been using it in Europe for years!" Especially for beauty products.

I live in Australia, this might as well be "Favourite bands" (hey, hey, I didn't say anything about Aussie bands, I'm just saying that the big players in music like Europe and America are foreign to me).

My favourite band of all time is The Beatles, so there's that. I tend to listen to British music when I want a fix (not so much on the fact that it's from Britain, I guess it's just because the bands that happen to play songs that I enjoy just happen to be from there) so put down guys like Elbow and Muse.

Aw... *puts down thick-framed glasses*

Hmm... I can't say I've noticed but late night infomercials wouldn't be my first viewing choice. Maybe with lazy exercise things to some extent like "If you stand on this platform and do nothing you will drop eight dress-sizes in half an hour, just like this thin, tanned American lady." Other than that you'd be better of asking someone who doesn't have the sleeping pattern of an eleven year old.
Really? I didn't realise Europe was so advanced in mascara technology.

Yes, he's a rapper. And yes, he's done stuff far beyond simple anime opening themes.

I listen to a few foreign bands. Anything not in the U.S. I consider foreign.

The best in my opinion being Falconer. Sweden Power Metal

After them, Maximum the Hormone. Japanese Metal

The rest: Antinowhere League, Gojira, and Voivod

I live in Australia, so almost all my favourite bands are foreign. Actually, I don't think I even like any Australian bands. huh...

Anyhoo, Between the Buried and Me, Sylosis, Dreamshade, the Human Abstract, the Ocean. Take your pick. They're all phenomenal :)

My favorite foreign bands are pretty much all Japanese bands.

My top favorite Foreign Band would have to be Maximum the Hormone. I love that band. They're so awesome. Their lyrics, the guitar, drumming, singing, everything about them is epic.
For some reason, I seem to have a real affinity for Canadian folk music. Moxy Fruvous and the BareNaked Ladies in specific. Also of course Alanis but she's more mainstream.

Basically some really great music and comedy come from Canada!
