As strange as this sounds, Boone from Fallout New Vegas.
Maybe it was the result of coming from Fallout 3 where the companions are glorified bots and finding FNV's deep, actual human beings of companions, but Boone really stuck to me. Here's this dude, in the Mojave Wasteland, much more badass than my character (seriously Boone, just let me have one kill before all enemies in sight have holes in their heads), following my character around first by a death wish and then by genuine friendship.
I could feel Boone's pain as he told my char. the story of how he had to kill his wife, the remorse and guilt he felt, and how little he had to live. And how good it felt to see this guy gain his redemption.
