Fav is Bungie with all they interaction they have with the community. I respect Valve a lot too since even though I don't play PC and am still waiting for the 360 version of TF2 to be playable, they interact with their community about as much as Bungie does.

Oh, and the Namco tales studio is awesome because they make the Tales games. My JRPG side's favorite games ever.

Then maybe Bethesda or Bioware. Or the guys that made Timesplitters I dunno.
Free Radical are defunct now mate. Because you guys didn't like Haze.
God that was an awful game. It's a shame Timesplitters had to suffer for it.
And for some reason this helped remind me of another one I missed off my list, Sucker Punch.

Nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks Sucker Punch could have quite a long and illustrious career ahead of them.

Bethesda - Unfortunately, not defunct.

Are you serious? Please elaborate.
They screwed up the Fallout series, imho - that alone warrants hate and pure disappointment. The only game they ever released that I enjoyed (until the boredom sets in) was Morrowind and it's expansions. I didn't like any other Elder Scrolls game, and I sure as hell didn't like their attempt at Fallout. A lot of people like it, but they ruined it for me.

Naughty Dog is number 1 for the Jak and Daxter franchise (and probably for Uncharted once I get a PS3). BioWare has been pretty consistent with their games, too. Insomniac as well for Ratchet and Clank (the old Jak vs. Ratchet 'rivalry' is one I have fond memories of from the PS boards....) I've enjoyed a lot of other one-offs with many developers though; 2K, Lionhead, Radical, Bethesda, and Valve, to name a few. CodeMasters seem to have their racing games down to a science now, too. Loved Grid (and Fuel to an extent, though it was a bit of a let down).

Good list right there, I agree with all those. I am personally a huge fan of Monolith as well.
I haven't played FEAR, but my friend loves that game.
FEAR was pretty great if you don't mind the lack of level variety. I think it is one of the best all-out-balls-to-the-wall shooter I've ever played. I am more a fan of their Condemned games though. FEAR 2 is the only game of theirs I feel has been lacking. DO NOT ever play FEAR on ps3 though (based on your favorite developers I'm assuming that is what you play on) It is not a good port at all.
I do not know why PS3 ports are so hard. On the other hand Yahtzee, of Zero Punctuation, really liked Condemned 1 and the first half of the sequel. I have never played it though.

Do I detect hostility? If so, we are sorry that they had to make a game comparable to the brainchild of some pretend war game some 2nd grade boys made up.
